Audience to Be Addressed
The targeted students for this lesson plan will be the grade seven students. The lessons will be appropriate because it will help learners be creative while working with numbers. Also, the lessons will be appropriate for the students because it will enhance their algebraic skills.
Objectives
There will be six primary objectives of this study plan. After successfully completing this study plan, the students will be able to; explain what the Fibonacci numbers and also describe their origin. Second, the students will be able to identify Fibonacci numbers either in nature as well as in art. Third, the learners will be able to identify and write the next numbers in a random Fibonacci sequence and also be in a position to create an original number sequence. Fifth, the students will be able to create Fibonacci spirals as well as rectangles and ultimately create an acoustic Fibonacci poem.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
Materials Needed for the Lesson
There are six materials that will be required when executing the lesson plan. The materials will include pencils, drawing papers, compass, ruler and a computer that has an internet connection. Also, the students will need a copy of the class activity sheet as well as a copy of the homework activities’ sheet.
Investigation of Activities by Students
There will be three primary activities that will be undertaken by students during the Fibonacci sequence lesson. The first activity will be to look at pictures of rectangles and spirals to have an introduction of the Fibonacci numbers. The second activity will be to find the Fibonacci on the pictures of images issued to the students. The final activity will be to work with the Fibonacci. In this case, students will be asked to create shapes on a drawing paper by utilizing the Fibonacci sequence.
Outline of the Presentation
The lesson will begin by introducing students to the Fibonacci sequence. In this case, the teacher will define the Fibonacci sequence and explain to students about its history and significance.
The teacher will work with the grade seven students so as to ascertain whether the students can identify the sequence themselves.
The teacher will write patterns of numbers in the Fibonacci sequence and then explain to students the rule occurring in each sequence.
The teacher will divide the students into small groups of three and then issue the learners the class activity sheets for them to discuss various Fibonacci sequence problems.
Lastly, the teacher will offer the students a Fibonacci take-home activity sheet. The sheet will contain the Fibonacci sequence questions and all students will be expected to return the completed assignment in two weeks’ time from the date it is issued.
Evaluation of the Lesson
After executing the lesson, it will be essential for the teacher to assess the student’s understanding of the Fibonacci sequence. An evaluation will be essential to identify the students’ weakness in mastering the Fibonacci sequence. The chart below will be employed as the evaluation tool for the lesson.
Ensure Student Can: | Mastery | Advanced Skill | Moderate Skill | Emerging Skill |
Generate a series of numbers using the Fibonacci sequence without any form of assistance.
Develop a series of numbers that have a logical sequence.
Easily identify the Fibonacci sequence either in nature or when expressed as art
Create rectangles on a graph paper by using squares as well as the Fibonacci sequence.
Draw multisided triangles on a paper using a ruler and defined measurements expressed in numbers from the Fibonacci sequence. |
