Government organizations, as well as the private sector, have also channeled plenty of resources to support the healthcare sector and the different related professions such as doctors and nurses among others. It shows the magnitude of importance of healthcare in the society. Such acts have supported the adage that a healthy nation is a wealthy nation as healthy populations engage in productive activities in the economic, political as well as social sectors in the society. People are attracted to different healthcare professions driven by different reasons and factors that make them choose between the different professions in the healthcare service. However, this paper presents reasons why I want to be a nurse among the many healthcare professions that exist.
My passion working in the healthcare sector started as a childhood dream and was driven by the compassionate and selflessness that caregivers offer to humanity as a whole that ensures and restores hope to the ailing and sick. They also empower the community to take preventive measures that ensure healthy communities able to make an informed decision that enhances positive, healthy living. The positive contribution to the society offered by caregivers encouraged me to pursue my first degree in Dental Surgery in India so that I could be part of the change and positive contribution that caregivers offer to the society across the world. However, many agree that knowledge is power and, therefore, enhancing knowledge in the related field of nursing would provide me more skills and flexibility to offer more services beyond the dental surgery and related health care services.

Nursing is described by many as a “calling”. Nurses can traverse across many healthcare services to support other caregivers in delivering different healthcare service. The skills and knowledge that I would acquire from the nursing course would enable me to make informed decisions, give guidance to colleagues and contribute positively in discussion and debates on the how best to improve the health care services. Moreover, it would enable me to offer to patients not only dental surgery-related services but also other health care services. It would enhance informed decision-making related to nursing and actions to be taken by patients and people around them related to enhance healthcare services. Most of the dental surgery patients and clients require nursing services and, hence, by studying nursing, it would enable me to offer them a whole package in terms of services that would minimize their movements to other healthcare facilities to look for such services.
I have the ambition to offer leadership services in the healthcare sector and, thus, studying nursing would enable me to show and lead from the front by showing a professional example. Moreover, it would enable me to supervise and ensure that the nurse caregivers under my supervision work and offer service according to the stated regulations and professionalism as I would be empowered and knowledgeable with the type and quality of services in the nursing profession required.
Finally, by studying nursing, it would provide me with the flexibility to offer services to other different caregivers when I am not engaged in the dental surgery services. It would help me in career growth and possibly offer consultation services when I have acquired enough of experience and professional growth.
In conclusion, different health care services offered by caregivers play an important role that ensures healthy populations and communities. However, nursing, in my view would provide me with an extraordinary opportunity for career and professional growth. It is due to the flexibility and dynamism that nurse's offer in the entire health care sector and, consequently, the reason I would want to be a nurse.
