The Information technology implementation process involves the execution of the proposed plan. The implementation process consists of several progressive steps that an organization needs to establish within a given time frame. Planning is a crucial step in implementation because it is where the decisions regarding the project are stipulated. Leeman et al. (2019) stated that the execution of the project implies that the needed personnel, resources, and budgetary are available. The project manager ensures all the systems responsible for the project are in place to avoid any challenges. The project manager should possess the necessary qualities and attributes, which enable the efficient delivery of the project. Implementation is a quick process that is continuous and does not end at any given time.
The reason behind it is that when the institution implements the system after a given time, the project will need continuous improvements, such as upgrading and updating. Continuous improvement will enable the detection of any loopholes in the project. Steps involved in the implementation of the IT project begins with the project planning, which primarily requires allocation of resources, budget to be used, and the personnel. The next step in system design involves creating a redesigned workflow that will enable process functionality. The model applied allows the development of the desired function of the system. After the event, testing follows to detect an error, as well as to perfect the system.

Evaluation is the last step in the IT implementation, which focuses on measuring the system functionality and if it has met the set goals. The information technology implementation process involves various responsibilities and roles that are played by different stakeholders in the organization. In the planning process, the duties and responsibilities are allocated to ensure the smooth running of all activities. The management is responsible for providing all the essential resources, which includes usage of funds. Again, it’s the mandate of the administration to provide a conducive environment where the project manager can freely interact with the management on the progress of the project. The project manager is required to divide the team per their skills and competence to allow smooth implementation. Besides, Allain and Laurin (2018) discuss that it the responsibility of the project manager to ensure that the schedule is in place.
In the case study, the memorial health system outlines the failures its management could have prevented in the early stages of implementation. In this case, the project was far from success. According to Balgrosky, some of the failures witnessed in the project is linked to ignorance and lack of commitment by the manager. The leaders did not follow crucial steps involved in the process. When members proposed the project, some of the stakeholders strongly opposed the implementation of the CPOE project. The community-based feared that the system would significantly increase their workload because it would replace verbal orders. In this case, the manager should have looked at this grievance and proposed a better way through, which the system could reduce the workload. Another indicator of the failure was the proposed timeline.
Also, there were questions on the schedule because it was too short for the implementation, given the complexity of the project. Time is a crucial factor in implementing projects; in my case, I would have increased the schedule to prevent the rushing of the project. The various project managers were not competent because they should have listened to the issues raised and figure out the most appropriate move than just rushing to implementation. Dr. Spark also contributed to the failure of the project because he was not willing to listen to Martin, the current project manager, and also provide the resource that was required. Building a good relationship with the project manager is crucial because the success factor relies on them. The allocation of funds was less, and this led to cutting costs on other aspects to save money. In preparation for the budgets, it is essential to ensure that some funds are set aside for emergency cases, especially when the project consumes its allocations before it completes. Allain and Laurin (2018) argue that the implementation of a project requires a critical analysis of all factors related to it and following every detail to ensure its functionality.
