“Paradise lost” a book by Milton is about Adam and Eve and how they were created and how they ended up being chased away from the Garden of Eden. The Garden of Eden is also known as the paradise. This story is also found in the book of Genesis. This story has been expanded by Milton into a long poem. In the poem, the origin of Satan who was known as Lucifer is told. Lucifer led his followers to war against God and was sent to hell, and his thirst for revenge led him to tempt Eve to eat the forbidden fruit. As such, the action resulted in the downfall of man.

The story of paradise lost starts from hell, in this story; the followers of Satan are seen in hell recovering from defeat in a war against God. Satan’s followers build a palace known as Pandemonium; they hold a council so as to determine whether they ought to or should not go back to battle. However, they come to a conclusion to explore a new prophesied world where they can carry out their revenge. When God sees Satan flying over the new world he foretells of the fall of humanity. The son of God offers to sacrifice him for the sale of man. Satan eventually convinces Eve to eat the forbidden fruit Eve then convinces Adam to eat it, and they lose their innocence. Milton asserts that this sin brought about death to mankind. This leads them to lose paradise lost. The story begins in a comparable way with the Genesis book with how the world was created. The son of God comes down to earth to judge sinners and mercifully delays their death judgment. On the other side, Satan and his followers are turned to serpents as punishment. Adam and Eve are sent away from paradise, but they still have hope since the savior of mankind will come.

In conclusion, paradise lost is also about a civil war. Satan leads some angels in a war against God. Editors have argued that Milton directs his poetry to Stuart monarchy. However, Lewis argued that Milton position not in any consideration as he believed in God; also, Satan is seen as wicked.
