The book of Mathew Chapter 5 versus 48 sums up who a Christian should be, which is, someone who is perfect like the heavenly father is. Human beings can never attain perfection because they are mortals. However, when one goes in search of perfection, they easily attain excellence. A Christian should, therefore, aim for perfection to attain excellence in their Christian life.
Such Christian is one who, first of all truly believes in the Christian faith – that Christ died for our sins, and rose again on the third day so that God may forgive our sins. Such a Christian is the one who, in the Parable of the Sower in Mark 4: 1 – 20, fell on the good soil and continues to bear fruit for Christ. In other words, such Christian continues to proclaim Christ’s goodness both in word and indeed.

As the Bible in 1 st John chapter 2 versus 4 says, a true Christian is also one who keeps God’s commandments, which the Lord handed down to Moses at Mount Sinai. God’s commandment is recorded in the book of Exodus Chapter 20 versus 2 – 17 and recounted in Deuteronomy Chapter 5 versus 6 - 21. A good Christian is someone who strives each day to keep these commandments.
It also behooves of a good Christian to repent and confess when they have sinned against the Lord. The Bible in the book of 1 st John Chapter 1 versus 8 and 10 acknowledges that man is a sinner. Verse 9 thereof goes a step further and proclaims that if a man confesses their sins, God will forgive them.
A true Christian, therefore, acts the way Jesus Christ acted and consciously rejects anything that contradicts the Bible's edicts on how Jesus Christ of Nazareth acted. From the Bible, Jesus lived a life of holiness and worshiped God at all times. When he was tempted by Satan to renounce God, he refused Satan’s overtures and reaffirmed his loyalty to God. This is exactly how a good Christian should behave when confronted with temptations of whatever kind.
