This study aims to investigate various issues surrounding discrimination in the workplace. Firstly, the study seeks to determine the prevalence of discrimination in the workplace. Secondly, the study will investigate the comparative differences in discrimination between persons of different nationalities. Finally, the study will assess the association that one’s race has on discrimination in the workplace. Consequently, relevant research questions have been prepared, and their research designs tailored to achieve the aims of the study.
A descriptive research question was formulated to help determine the prevalence of discrimination in the workplace. The research question states, “ What is the prevalence of discrimination at the workplace?” The research design for this question involves quantitative design and will be conducted using a research survey. The study will be undertaken in various states in the United States. Participants for the study will be selected through stratified random sampling (Johnson and Christensen, 2019) . Organizations will be grouped according to their size, large, medium and small depending on the number of employees. The participants in particular organizations will then be selected at random. The study will recruit about 64 participants in each organization to enable the generalization of the results ( Onwuegbuzie and Leech, 2006) . The study will utilize open and multiple-choice questionnaire due to the ease of analysis (Rowley, 2014). Questionnaires will be administered to help collect data on whether the participants had been discriminated in the workplace. The collected data will be analyzed using measures of central tendency, such as mean to identify the prevalence of discrimination.

The comparative research question for the study is, “What is the prevalence of discrimination in the workplace between native Americans and non-native American nationals?” The question targets to determine the prevalence rates of discrimination amongst persons of different nationalities. The research design for this question will involve a research survey comprising persons from various nationalities. The study will be undertaken simultaneously with the descriptive study by ensuring that persons from different nationalities are recruited into the study. The collected data will be analyzed, and the prevalence rates compared. Measures such as range and mean will be used in the analysis.
The relational research question for the study is, “What is the relationship between race/ethnicity and discrimination in the workplace?” The research question seeks to identify whether there is a bias for discrimination to persons of particular races. The research design will involve a research survey and will also be conducted together with the other two research designs. The questionnaire for use in this study will have the reasons that participants perceive to have led to their discrimination. One of the reasons included is race. After data collection, the responses will be analyzed. Correlation and regression analysis will be crucial in determining in observed correlation between discrimination and one’s race ( Onwuegbuzie and Leech, 2006) .
