Furthermore, the completed research makes an assumption on the possible side effects and how they will affect different individuals. These generalizations are not always right as people are different. As an individual, my personal bias regarding the drug industry’s influence on drug research includes the fact that they manufacture drugs in full knowledge of the side effects. It is my belief that the industry is involved in significant cover-ups regarding the side effects. Furthermore, the industry may not conduct sufficient research on these side effects. The primary goal may be financial in nature. Herbal remedies are always an option and may sometimes be better than the synthetic drugs. The industry may, therefore, conceal this fact with the intention of profiting from it. In that context, my bias regarding the industry is based on this simple fact of possibly covering the truth, whether it be in terms of side effects or the potency of alternative medicine.
