The topic on refugees/migration in connection with terrorism has become common in many countries. However , Syria seems to be among the failed states that have weak policies governing refugees and migration. This has increased insecurity issues among the citizens of the country (Eroglu, Cohen, & Sirkeci, 2016) . The Homeland Security is in a dilemma to whether chase away the refugees or to keep them, chasing them away will have diplomatic repercussions like destroying the domestic relationships. There is no enough evidence to show that the refugees are the source of insecurities. May the terrorists are using refugees as a cover up for their activities. Refugee could be innocent or guilty.
Moreover, the refugees and migration have caused transnational risks such as terrorism, the use of mass destruction weapons, transnational crimes like drugs, human, and weapons trafficking, and insecurities of cargo and people within the borders. All these risks have a negative effect on the economic growth of the growth because people are afraid to lose their lives. It is a challenging situation for a state to start vetting refugees after allowing so many immigrants in the country. Political and ethnic concerns need to be carefully addressed when handling the refugees’ situation.

Syria needs military intervention from the United States to help in solving the situation . On the other hand, Syria needs to revise its political, legal rules regulating refugees and immigration. Have a policy framework that allows vetting of refugees to minimize the exposure to terrorist attacks. The citizens of Syria need to be educated on human rights (Eroglu, Cohen, & Sirkeci, 2016) . Make an intercultural conflict prevention dialogue between different communities in the country. Allow the Homeland Security to monitor the messages and calls made through different social media platforms. Technology has become another leeway for terrorist plans and attacks.
With the increases transnational risks, improving security measures is one of the ways of improving security among the citizens of Syria.
