Why do we fear and tremble? I chose the question because in our daily society, fear, tremble, and anxiety is very rampant thus creating curiosity on the cause of fear and tremble. People develop fear and tremble in every day’s life and there has been growing needs to understand what actually make people tremble.
Trembling is a feeling of panic or the feeling of being shaken by an event. It usually occurs as a result of an event that has already taken place. Human being trembles due to the fear of the unknown. We fear that something could happen, but we don’t what the issue is about. In the biblical scenario, human beings tremble because of lack of knowledge on what God has in plans for us. Human beings are already in the hands of God, but no one knows the will of God. To meet his wills and remain righteous before His eyes, we must get salvation and live according to the wills of God. Human beings know that death will come, but not when it will come. One must, therefore, make a sacrifice to live in salvation, stay away from sinning and do the will of God which we don’t know.

God has plans for us, but unfortunately, we are not aware of what these plans are about. In the course, we know that death awaits us, but we don’t know when. The need to meet the commands of God and stay by his will which is hidden can make human beings develop fear and tremble. The fear of the unknown and the anxiety caused by the feeling of curiosity all lead one to tremble. The inaccessible secret of God who decides for us and given that we don’t know his will, we purely remain responsible for deciding to work, assume our life and our destiny. It makes human beings to sacrifice much in an attempt to know what God has for us and what his will is for us. The result of this is fear and trembling for what could be the outcome of what we don’t know.
God is hidden, and his ways are secret. Human beings must sacrifice and obey as his disciples. “Wherefore my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence. Work out your salvation with fear and trembling”. God demand from us to obey and stick to salvation. He expects us to remain obedient and committed to salvation. As humans, we don’t know what plans he has for us but we have to sacrifice ourselves in the process to obey the anxiety and fear of what we don’t know. As in the Bible, Abraham had to make a callous decision on making his only son a sacrifice to God to obey the commands. Unaware of what God had in plan for him, he had to obey. The fear of the unknown plans of God and the anxiety of fulfilling the commands, he had to make a sacrifice to obey the commands of God. Abraham .had to keep his secrets because he did not know what God had in plan for him. He had to make a sacrifice to disobey the ethics by hiding the secrets and meet the commands of God. He was not aware of God wanted for him, and due to the fear of the unknown, he had to make a sacrifice by giving in to the commands of God because he expected had anxiety and fear of what might arise from failing to obey the commands of God.
In conclusion, human beings can develop anxiety and fear because of the secrecy and the unknown events. Anxiety and curiosity create fear in human beings, making them tremble for what could be the likelihood outcome of the unknown event.
