Abortion is legal in different states in America owing to the Supreme Court ruling that had the specification on time requirement for a safe abortion. Those who support abortion claim that at a specific period of pregnancy, the fetus is not regarded as a kid or human being. It is at this time that abortion is right. On the other side, those who drum against abortion claim that life is precious and need protection from all types of unhealthy decisions by the mother or physicians. The anti-abortion calls for action against the perpetrators. As a result, there have been different health bills in the Congress that advocate for modification of varying abortion act that gives mothers privileges and power to terminate the life of unborn babies. An example of such a bill is H.R.36-Pain-Capable Unborn Protection Act. Representative Frank introduced this bill on 01/03/2107. The bill "amends the federal criminal code to make it a crime for any person to perform or attempt to perform an abortion if the probable post-fertilization age of the fetus is 20 weeks or more.” According to this health bill, the violator must face a criminal charge which is inclusive of a fine or five years imprisonment. The bill “provides exceptions for an abortion: that is necessary to save the life of the pregnant woman, or when the pregnancy is the result of rape or incest. A physician who performs or attempts to perform an abortion under an exception must comply with specified requirements.”The bill was the topic during the Arizona house representative race between Debbie Lesko and Hiral Tipirneni. Due to her advocacy for life and a strong stand against abortion, Lesko won the race. This is a mock interview concerning the Pain-Capable Unborn Protection Act. The interviewee is the Arizona house Representative Debbie Lesko.

Debbie Lesko was born in the year 1958. She is a Republican member of the United States House of Representative. Lesko represents Arizona's 8 th congressional district. Previously, she was Arizona Senate member, the office she held for three years. From the year 2009 to the year 2015, Lesko was a member of the Arizona House of Representative. Following the resignation of the incumbent Frank Trent, there was a tight race between Lesko and Hiral. On February 27 th the year 2018, Lesko clinched the seat's nomination, and she later won the race on April 24 th the same year. Lesko has tertiary level education and since her tenure as a politician in the country, her advocacy for private schools and charter school is outstanding in the state. Other than that, she is a true advocate for life. She has been in the office for approximately six months since her election. About healthcare, Lesko is a pro-life person and usually is proposes universal health coverage. She evenclaims that the global coverage needs to replace the Obama care which she claims is strenuous to common citizens. Lesko at a time opposed the expansion of Arizona's Medicaid Coverage. She went further and sued Jan Brewer after she expanded Medicaid. Another policy agenda was proposed legislation "to give employers religious exemptions from providing contraceptives in health insurance plans.” She further “proposed legislation that would allow health officials to conduct warrantless and unannounced inspections of abortion clinics, which critics said undermined the privacy of patients at the clinics.”

Fundamental interview question touches the question of abortion and Pain-Capable Unborn Protection Act. The first question is the whether Lesko advocates for the bill Pain-Capable Unborn Protection Act and what are some of her reason for pushing for its passes at the senate house ( Jones & Jerman, 2014). Lesko’s priority has been to give life a special place in her agenda for health. On the matter of abortion, Lesko is an anti-abortion and her struggle to introduce strategies to reduce abortion. Her answer to the question was that she values life and give it a due priority. As a result, Lesko claims that as long as the fetus has developed and has senses and feelings that are similar to that of a normal person, the fetus is treated as a normal human being. As a result, that kid should not be killed through any form of abortion. The next question was her opinion on the Supreme Court ruling on Roe v. Wade that decriminalized abortion. According to her, the USA constitution should mind life and should not give the legal perspective a priority at the expense of a life. She, therefore, claims that there is a need to amend the constitution to protect the health of the woman as well as the life of the fetus. The last question was her opinion on the religious aspect of the Pain-Capable Unborn Protection Act. According to her, she stands with the religious aspect of life ( Girard, 2017). She claims that as long as the fetus has developed, there is no reason why any method of abortion should be recommended to end such a life.

In summary, Lesko is a politician whose priority is the protection of life through enhancing health policies that protect both unborn babies and the general population’s health. From the interview, it is apparent that her quest to have stable and healthy people under her guidance as a leader is pushing her to come up with reforms and also support a healthcare bill that inclines towards protection of health.
