Achieving a sustainable environment at a global scale will need a collective effort from the leaders and the citizen at the worldwide level. In a sustainable environment, the relationship between people and the environment will be positive as people will be making voluntary efforts to reduce environmental and resource wastage, reduce pollution, plant trees, and also save energy. Unlike the current world where air pollution, dumping, and also cutting down trees are culture, the future will see people relating positively to the environment by avoiding dumping, and placing emphasis on renewable energy. People will be cautious about the environment to venture into technological developments that are friendly to the environment ( Ahmed, 2019). It will be a mutually beneficial relationship between people and an environment where people will benefit from the environmental resources while also preserving them for future generations. It will be a generation where people will have eco-friendly disaster preparation and implementation. The strategies that will be important during such natural disasters will include means of preventing soil erosion during flooding and planting trees such as mangroves to help during the hurricane. Others include and also sensitizing people to be cautious during natural disasters and involve in disaster management strategies that are good for the environment. A sustainable environment in the future will also involve a tremendous improvement in the ecosystem and diversity in the environment. In a sustainable environment, the global ecology environment will reach a state where it will thrive and support itself with less influence or with minimal support or assistance from people. It implies that there will be an availability of acreage for roaming and expansion, available unpolluted water source, and limited or controlled human activity in the ecosystem. Furthermore, the environment will have all manner of species as diversity will be at its peak ( Kuo et al., 2019). There will be an excellent and mutually beneficial relationship between the environment and human beings. Therefore, all flora and fauna will be safe. With such sustainability in place, it means that human beings shall have relied more on non-fossil fuel and shall have restrained from polluting the environment. The human being shall also have restraint from activities that expose flora and fauna to dangers such as afforestation, dumping on land and water, and encouraging soil erosion, water, and air pollution. With human beings engaging in eco-friendly life, diversity, and a sustainable ecosystem shall be inevitable. Agricultural practices that are friendly to the environment will also be at the heart of promoting a sustainable environment in the future. To achieve a global sustainable environment, people shall have shifted from their agricultural practices that are destructive to the environment and adopt the eco-friendly agricultural system. Therefore, in a time when the world will achieve a sustainable climate, agricultural practices such as permaculture will be critical. Permaculture applies natural principles that combine intention, smart farming, and design to reduce the waste of resources and increase production efficiency. Also, agricultural practices that are friendly to the environment such as Aquaponics & Hydroponics will be critical as a way of reducing the waste of the soil and depleting its nutrients ( Van den Brink et al., 2018). Crop rotation that aims to preserve the soil nutrient and allow better soil management will be critical. The use of alternative energy sources such as hydropower, solar power, or wind farms, which are eco-friendly for agriculture will also be prevalent during that time. Lastly, tree plantation to increase rainfall and minimal use of pesticide that harms the soil organisms will all be the farming practices that are likely to dominate the time when people will achieve sustainable environments on a global scale. Sustainable water systems should provide adequate water quantity and appropriate water quality for a given need, without compromising the future ability to provide this capacity and quality. In the future, when the water system will be sustainable, it implies that people will not leave the surface water to flood and cause havoc. Instead, they will tap the running water into dams and store them for use. It will be a world where short strategies such as boreholes that are used today will not be enough to tape the groundwater. Instead, changing rates or spatial patterns of ground-water pumpage, increasing recharge to the system, decreasing discharge from the groundwater system, and improving its volume in storage at different time scales will be used ( Kuo et al., 2019). Currently, people are still not taking advantage of rainwater and reclaimed water, as they give much force to bottled water, which is hazardous to the environment. In the future, therefore, more focus will be on taping the rainwater and maximum utilization of the reclaimed water to ensure that there is sufficient water for the population. Reusing water at home and in local industries will be encouraged. Lastly, it will be an age where people will not be overusing water for irrigation while at the same time polluting the water sources using fertilizers. It will be an age where using water efficiently for irrigation and protecting the surface, and groundwater supply sources will matter.
Also, the energy that people will be using in the future will not be the fossil fuel that people depend on at the current time. However, people will be using renewable sources of energy, such as solar, to light their homes and also run different industries to save fossil fuels. The artificial source of energy, therefore, will be the most prominent source of energy in many homes since there will be sensitization on the need to depend more on the artificial energy source than fossil fuel ( Churchill, Ivanovski& Bhattacharya, 2019). Even though the future still looks bleak, human has made numerous and essential steps that can guarantee a bright future for a healthy atmosphere and climate. For instance, the persistent use of artificial energy has reduced pollution in the world, and this plays a significant role in reducing cases such as global warming. Furthermore, the policies that many governments and environmental sectors pass that limit the release of toxic gases into the air by industries is also a crucial step that human beings have made that could be crucial for the climate and atmosphere in the future. Lastly, persistent innovation in environmentally friendly technologies is also another reason to believe that in the future, the atmosphere will be healthy. Currently, people still have the culture of piling up waste and heaping them at points. There are still many countries where burning waste is still a norm, and this is toxic to the environment. In the future of environmental sustainability, there will be a comprehensive waste management system. It will encourage reducing, reusing, and recycling waste. It will imply minimizing the sources of waste, reusing the waste that is reusable, and recycling those that are recyclable to preserve the environment ( Van den Brink et al., 2018). Therefore, people will no longer think of garbage as an unusable substance. They will see waste as something that, despite having served its original purpose, can still be reused or recycled into a different form that can accomplish different needs. Socially, people will have to be responsible and commit to behaviors that encourage environmental preservation to achieve a sustainable environment in the future. Economically, people will have to spend more money on innovative technologies that reduce pollution. They will have to spend more money on renewable energy than using fossil fuels to achieve environmental sustainability. Ecologically, enhancing afforestation, and also decreasing deforestation will be critical in preserving the environment ( Ahmed, 2019). Politically, enforcing laws on those who abuse the environment and encouraging policies that protect both fauna and flora will be vital. People will have to balance between exhausting the environment through the use of fossil fuels and conserving the environment through spending on renewable energy to achieve environmental sustainability. The challenge, however, is the economic impact of sustainability, and dealing with natural disasters, that strike most of the time and cause substantial environmental destruction.
