I am an officer with the drug crimes unit. My duties are dedicated towards eradicating the sale of illegal drugs in the region by gathering intelligence and acting on rational decisions. As an officer of the law, I hold high regard for the Constitutions and policing ethics.
I am writing this affidavit to request for a search warrant on a suspected drug dealer’s house. The drug dealer’s name is John Brown and he operates his drug trade on 123 Maple Street. I have managed to gather information from a confidential informant (C.I) that Brown is selling drugs from his home. The C.I saw Brown perform a potential drug transaction after he sold a product called “ice” wrapped in a small, folded aluminum bundle to a woman. Brown did not mention to the C.I what he sold to the woman; however, the C.I later looked at the freezer and saw small foil packages. I suspect that these small foil packages contain illegal drugs hence the request for the search warrant. I believe that my C.I has given me valid information and I completely stand by it. He has given me information in the past that has led to three search warrants whereby contraband was discovered. His information has led to meaningful discoveries and enabled me to effectively execute my core duty; eradicating the drug trade on our streets. On that note, I believe the search warrant on the house in 123 Maple Street will help the unit to narrow in and arrest John Brown. This arrest will go a long way in curbing drug trafficking as it would deter other drug sellers on that street.
