Project management involves managing a project in a manner that all the objectives will be achieved in an appropriate time. Further, project management implies a process that use unique processes, skill, methodology, knowledge and managing team to achieve the main objective of the specified project (Pinto, 2016) . The two major methodologies applied in the scheduling of projects are agile project management (Agile PM) and critical chain project management (CCPM). This paper will give the comparison of agile PM and CCPM and contrast the two methodologies outlining both advantages and disadvantages of each methodology.
Agile PM follows an interactive tactic in managing a project. Also, agile PM is open in adopting changes involved in the project and keep an eye on the customer's requirement due to its flexibility and collaboration (Bergmann, 2018). Contrary, CCPM stresses on the resources required to manage a project. CCPM involves a long network in executing projects and follows a unique path in better management to monitor the status of every task (Luiz et al., 2018) .

The process followed by agile project management includes the requirement, planning, design, development, release, tracking, and monitoring (Bergmann, 2018). Contrary, CCPM follows a unique path which focuses on resource management. The process involves building a network, scheduling, better sizing, synchronization, better management, and resource management (Luiz et al., 2018) .
Agile PM has six main advantages. One advantage of applying agile PM is instant customer satisfaction which builds a strong customer interactive relationship. Another advantage is a continuous improvement since the project is open to manipulation where a gap is identified and actions taken to fill the gaps. Also, the agile PM has time delivery since it involves short term projects which are executed in a short time. Additionally, the self-organized team and sustainable development are central advantages while applying agile PM. Finally, agile project management is adaptive to continuous changes (Saxena, 2016) .
Some advantages of applying CCPM contradicts agile PM. While agile PM focus on short term projects, CCPM is critical in the management of large projects which needs a long time to be executed. Also, CCPM cost management is effective compared to agile PM which incorporates costly management technique (Pinto, 2016) . Additionally, CCPM provides graphical representations of the projects which help in coherently understanding the projects. Also, CCPM has the advantage of completing the project in time similar to agile PM (Saxena, 2016) . This timely project completion is possible since CCPM follows a clear stipulated path until the end of the project.
Each of the two project management scheduling approaches has several disadvantages. The agile PM is not suitable for big projects that are time-consuming. Another disadvantage is that daily collaboration is difficult. Also, continuous interaction of the project increases the cost of the project. Finally, agile PM is costly compared to CCPM. CCPM has several disadvantages which include difficulty in adopting sudden changes making it rigid and difficult to manipulate the stipulated guidelines (Pinto, 2016) . Also, another disadvantage is that if CCPM is not well defined, it becomes so difficult in managing large projects. CCPM is also time-consuming in scheduling large projects. Scheduling large projects need much time in building network and synchronization compared to agile MP where project scheduling require a short period.
Another disadvantage of applying CCPM is that resource allocation is not monitored properly and there is a higher likelihood and resources misappropriation (Saxena, 2016) . Additionally, it is difficult to comprehend the networking of projects. Skillful personnel with project management experience are required compared to agile PM which focuses on small projects and addresses one line of projects.
The two project management scheduling methodologies have their advantages and disadvantages. It is pertinent to note that agile PM is best for short term projects whereas CCPM is best incorporated in long term projects.
