Airport Operations managers are typically given the responsibility by top management of guaranteeing conformity with appropriate national, state, local, and airport-specific security guidelines. Airports that possess a formal process subdivision typically designate a staff member to be accountable for the general airport operations. At smaller airfields, this duty can be joined with other duties, for instance, those allocated to individuals within the maintenance subdivision, or maybe even the Airport Manager. In regards to the existing regulations, Airport managers have been trained in various aspects. 

Foremost, the operations managers have been trained in resolving conflicts amongst airport shareholders, comprising air transporters, occupants, and construction suppliers. Secondly, airport operations managers have been trained to observe the climate pattern and organize snow extraction plans when applicable. They have also been trained to resolve security subjects, answer to and perform the duties of an Incident Commander for emergencies, and also as the airfield’s chief diplomat to every stakeholder.

However, there are numerous avenues that the operations managers must be trained on and further understand the regulations of the requirements of Part 139. Foremost, airport operations manager should be trained on working diligently with the army airfield operator in management of airfield disasters. The military is characteristically conversant with the federal emergency management agency’s national incident managing framework. Secondly, because of technological advancements, AOMs should be further trained on AOM to integrate the in-built camera's power to record divergences and enhance communication of concerns addressed at the airport. They should be trained on using georeferencing, a way of allocating spatial coordinates to the data. Moreover, overlaying these latitude and longitude positions for any issue acknowledged on an airport on high-resolution charts. This is better than using wordy references founded on distance from connections and the AOM’s inventive explanations.
