The film crash as directed by Paul Haggis is a film that as majorly explored the social relationship. It starts with the word touch, and hence the entire movie covers the theme of the social connections, sense of touching one another and the actions that socially crash bring out the tactile sensation to human. There is the social connectivity that each human will sear for feeling that he or she would want to connect with another. Every action human beings intend to take may not necessarily match the expectations of the other human people (Chyi & McCombs, 2014). The film presents a Persian American business owner who operates a sop. He is seen buying a handgun to protect his wife and daughter. The tragedy was averted following Dorri’s action of subverting her father’s ideas by buying blanks for weapons. She portrays behavior of decisiveness and action instead of submission. This also presents her traits as of non-aggression and intuition (Heberlein & Adolphs, 2015). The situation and character by Dorri is an illustration of people should make use of their characters for the sake of saving themselves from situations and negate tier gender confines. It is symbolic in the movie from the act of Dorri protecting her father. This act shows more than just a subversion of gender roles. The clock that Dorri is wearing is impenetrable meaning it is the best weapon to be having. It represents love and faith. Love is the fabric that holds our social life. The girl’s clock also symbolizes hope as her father believed and hoped that nothing would harm her. Her love and sacrifice when she threw herself in front of the gun to save her father saved the two men. This symbolic act of her protection sows the forces that surround our ability to either destroy others or be destroyed. The sacrifice and protection she shows are not physical but symbolic, and this tells us that we must embrace hope, faith, and self-sacrifice for us to do away with the crash-like interactions that lead to mutual damages and find cohesion and connections instead (Heberlein & Adolphs, 2015). The movie illustrates that it is possible to seek and examine hope, faith, and self-sacrifice from within ourselves and make social impacts in our lives and those of others.
