Anthropocentric Point of View

From an ethical justification, the anthropocentric approach is the most appropriate in protecting a forest. Human beings have the moral obligation and as such, they should protect forests owing to the human-centric concerns. Individuals should shun the mentality that they need to exploit forests for their own benefits. Humans are supposed to put the environment around them first. Ethical judgments cause humans to evaluate their actions towards the environment. They question their inner moral standing, and their morality towards the environment. Human beings feel the need to protect forests because their own existence depends on healthy forests.

Approach to Environment

I adopt the conservation approach to environment. In the modern world, it is difficult to ensure that the environment remains untouched. For that reason, conserving it is the most appropriate way in order to ensure future generations find sufficient quantities. Based on my personal approach, I prefer to plant trees often to replace the ones that have been consumed. Trees offer humans with oxygen, shelter and food and ensure that there is enough rain. If all human beings were to adopt my approach, they would make the world a better place, and forests would be conserved.

Global Climate Change

Global climate change is an important reason for using diesel engines. Research indicates that modern diesel engines emit less pollution compared to the ones that use gasoline. Currently, diesel engines have adopted new standards and are very clean. In the last few decades, black carbon that was emitted by diesel engines was blamed for causing global warming (Heinrich, 2017). However, changes in the domestic fuel composition, in addition to introduction of advanced engine designs and technologies for controlling emissions have helped to reduce emissions by 80%. The new clean diesel engines are recommended by the United Nation Environment Program to be adopted globally (Heinrich, 2017).

New Wilderness Area

The members of the house of representative will contact me to influence my decision. They take part in passing the law prior to being assented by the president. The local land owners will contact me because the decision will limit their use on the land. My decision would be to first ensure that no harm takes place on the ecosystem. By preserving the wild population, human beings will be equally protected. Further, I will ensure that the area is legally protected and biologically intact. I will do so, because the law requires that when an area has been set aside, and identified as wilderness area, human activities should be restricted.
