Hello,
I liked your post since it was insightful and elaborate. You clearly demonstrate to the reader the application of figurative language in communication by citing personal examples. I agree with you that figurative language empowers a person in creative writing and enables the writer to explore new realms through creativity and imagination. In the same fashion as you, I use metaphors, similes, and hyperboles in creative writing. In particular, I use metaphors to attach a deeper meaning to a person, object, or event. For instance, in a certain essay, I wrote “music is the rhythm to my soul.” By using this metaphor, I demonstrated why music is so important in my life. In regards to similes, I use them to make meaningful comparisons between different things. For example, I might state that “due to my work, nights are as long as my days” to show that I do not usually sleep much since I am always working. Finally, I use hyperboles to make exaggerations that relay a certain meaning. For instance, I can writer “I use Facebook more than Twitter since Twitter does not help me to connect with friends.” Overall, your post is wonderful as it captures the essence of figurative language and how to use it.

Hello,
Your post was interesting since it is concise and accurate. Your clearly highlight how you use figurative language in your daily communication. I was especially impressed with your discussion on analogy and how you apply it. You state that you are inclined to use analogy since it enables one to give accurate descriptions. Also, you state that it works best when you know your type of audience. Based on this explanation, it is apparent that the best time to use analogy is when making presentations. The application of analogy in this instance will enable the speaker to connect with audience and make them to gain interest in the presentation. For instance, when making a presentation to high school students, I can use analogies connected to popular movies to make them interested in the presentation. Generally, your post captured the essence of using figurative language in communication.
