The idea of leadership is applicable to every organization that involves employees and offers services to the public. Teams that operate together demonstrate high participatory services and have an opportunity for increasing the effectiveness in providing their services to the people. In effect, transformational leadership and effective team building remain essential in improving the services offered by nurses in a healthcare organization. Transformational leadership ensures that there is high participation in teamwork, thus reducing the level of stress associated with employees in the workplace (Frankel & PGCMS, 2019). The executive health and safety argue that health service center has a high prevalence of self-reported stress, thus requiring an effective transformational and effective team building among employees. As a result, senior nurses need to employ leadership strategies, thus increasing the ability of nurses to offer useful services such as beside services to patients. Healthcare work environment experiences a high rate of change, thus making it essential for leaders to adopt transformational leadership in building a capable leadership team. 

Background Information 

Historically, healthcare organizations have been in a position to improve employee participation by providing adequate compensation for their duties and meeting their basic psychological needs in society. This approach has been changing over time with managers and leaders adopting new strategies for motivating workers to improve performance in the workplace. For example, managers in workplace healthcare organization by fostering a secure working environment and increasing access to shared governance and participatory leadership approach. Transformational leadership strategy involves different strategies such as Leadership skills are essential aspects for all nurses in a healthcare facility (Fischer, 2016). Clinical officers given managerial responsibilities need to use transformational leadership qualities and characteristics in bringing all nurses in an organization on board. Transformational leadership has an opportunity for motivating employees and equipping nurses with high levels of self-esteem and self-actualization. Range of policies and initiatives need to be implemented by employees including the newly appointed nurses and workers in ensuring that there is a reduction of required policies in serving the interests of nurses and improving the services they offer to patients.

Application of Transformational Leadership in Health Organizations 

Transformational leadership approach is applicable in Unit Management level in the healthcare organization. Nurse leaders who have been in a position to implement a transformational leadership approach can inspire and engage staff effectively. This leadership strategy involves encouraging workers to play an active role in the decision-making process. As a result, nurse leaders involving workers to play an essential role in decision-making approach encourages a nurse to adopt changes and solve problems experienced in the workplace. In the transformational approach, a unit manager may be required to create a vision and mission that reflect the goals of the entire organization (Fischer, 2016). The manger should reference this document to the document to a staff meeting and educate nurses on the effectiveness of adopting such strategies in the workplace. The vision statement should be in a position to encourage and inspire nurses to be innovative and create new strategies for promoting nourishment of modern culture and for nursing practice and patient care. This information indicates that transformational approach strengthens the relationship between employees to innovate strategies for offering efficient services in improving performance among employees. 

Transformational leadership in healthcare organization influences how communication occurs between leaders and staff in the healthcare organization, thus having a positive impact on nurse care manager. The role of a nurse care manager is to ensure that there is an establishment of long-term goals that increase the success of healthcare treatment. Since the nurse manager should be in a position to encourage nurses to offer effective treatment services to patients, transformational leadership helps leaders in influencing nurses to implement their strategies. The healthcare system faces diseases such as cancer that need improvement in the treatment process that increases the need for the innovative treatment process. Bureaucratic system in healthcare organizations need the Unit Managers have idealized and inspirational leadership characteristics for nurse leaders. The inspirational approach indicates that people need to communicate ideas and goals in a manner that is understandable to nurses and in a way that makes them feel part of the decision approach. This information shows that a transformational leadership approach requires people in authority to create staff email where they need to communicate and allow suggestions from staff thus encouraging innovation and creating of ways necessary in handling the needs of the patients. 

Transformational leadership approach also influences how staff nurses serve the interests of patients. In most cases, nurses need to engage in research and development to identify the effective strategies for increasing viability and effectiveness of workers in improving services to patients. Transformational leadership becomes the appropriate approach for ensuring that nurses communicate their findings and work as a team in developing the services they offer to patients. Transformational leadership plays an essential role in encouraging employees to improve performance in the workplace and help employees to increase viability and improvement in ensuring that nurses can offer services capable of pinpointing the problems facing patients (Crowne et al., 2017). Transformational leadership approach increases the ability of nurses to voice out their thoughts and feelings about a particular treatment approach. In effect, such ideas and suggestions are tested and incorporated in the treatment process, thus promoting collaboration in improving the services that healthcare organizations offer to patients. 

Transformational leadership approach has an opportunity for improving performance in the staff nurse where I operate. Nurses work in different clinical areas with an objective for developing the treatment process offered to employees. For instance, providing treatment services to outpatients and bedside services to inpatients are standard practices in this area of nurses in a healthcare organization. Administering medicines to patients and monitoring their progress requires a high rate of innovation and encouragement of people to serve the interests of patients. Successful handling of this role involves team working and encouraging employees to succeed in improving patients’ experience in the organization. For instance, in situations where the leader identifies new ideas and motivates employees to test and experience the benefits of such a strategy improves the treatment process needed by patients (Crowne et al., 2017). Strong leadership skills need to be in a position to increase the viability of staff nurses in offering practical treatment approach. Healthcare organizations face several challenges, such as transforming the way patients receive high quality and cost-effective care, especially in the future. This information indicates that people are in a position to handle the needs associated with the improvement of the experience of patients in public health organization. Transformational leadership becomes the appropriate approach for managing these needs. 

Personal Growth in Transformational Leadership 

Based on the analysis of the application of transformational leadership and team working in a healthcare organization, I identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in my career development. For instance, I have developed resistance in developing personal integrity capable of increasing success in offering services to patients. This trait requires the evaluation and implementation of the right choices for a particular patient from a possible given approach. Since effective leadership in healthcare organization involves assisting nurses in providing successful treatment approach, possession of such trait will increase the ability for achieving career objective. Critical thinking and dedication to the excellent treatment approach. Effective healthcare structure in an organization requires leaders to encourage trainees to learn from their examples. As a result, consultation and engagement with employees provide an opportunity for improving success in career development. 

Despite the existence of such strengths, I have weaknesses in achieving career goals. For example, I rarely take into consideration the need for participating in training programs regarding the ability of nurses to offer effective services to patients. Nurse leaders organize for training programs intending to increase the capacity for improving supports staff and improving caregiver provision. I also have a weakness in engaging in professional socialization, thus minimizing the ability for success in career objectives. Senior executives are in a position to offer such services, thus increasing the ability of people to succeed in career development. 

The existence of the weaknesses can also implement as a result of improving attending training programs offered by executive officers using transformational leadership approach. This information indicates that transformational leadership offered by nurse supervisors is in a position to improve the mechanisms through which nurses provide services to patients. For instance, developing emotional integrity requires a high rate of application in ensuring that people receive skills required in implementing teamwork strategies. Training programs by executive and achievement of practical communication skills promote effective treatment for patients. However, there exist threats likely to drawback my career development. For example, operation in healthcare organizations continues to change because of the emerging trends in treatment needs and complexities in administering treatment process. These changes need continuous training process intending to develop a successful treatment approach for improving the experience of services to patients. 

Qualities of a Good Nurse Leader 

Based on the application of transformational leadership in a healthcare organization, essential characteristics for nurse leaders are emotional intelligence, communication skills, and mentorship. Emotional intelligence requires leaders to operate jointly with trainees to increase the effectiveness in service delivery. For example, staff nurses need to be motivated with the goal for ensuring that there is a success in achieving developing treatment approaches capable of addressing the emerging trends in the healthcare sector (Frankel & PGCMS, 2019). This information indicates that leaders should be able to encourage nurses to implement treatment strategies and motivate people to achieve desired treatment goals in an organization. Communication skills are also an essential character because it creates an opportunity for nurses to communicate their needs and give strategies applicable to improving the functioning of nurses. Teamwork encourages input from different people, thus motivating nurses to deliver efficient services and remain accountable for their duties. Effectiveness of transformational leadership reveals in situations where there are motivational mechanisms needed in developing positive impacts in receiving training capable of improving the treatment process. Leaders need to act as mentors for nurses and employ ways for influencing employees to adhere to the goals of the organization. 

Conclusion 

Transformational leadership is essential for ensuring that there is an implementation of the successful operation of nurses in achieving development in a healthcare organization. Healthcare organizations have been applying motivational and compensation approaches that increase the viability of employees in meeting the needs of workers. Transformational leaders bring all nurses onboard, thus ensuring there is a success of nurses in researching and creating ideas needed in achieving the goals of the healthcare organization. Transformational leadership creates teamwork and motivation of employees to be innovative and remain accountable for their actions. The effectiveness of this approach occurs as a result of motivating workers to play an active role in the decision-making process, thus making them feel motivated. Transformational leadership becomes a successful process for ensuring that nurses develop emotional intelligence strategies, communication skills, and mentorship approach needed by nurse leaders.
