The article will solicit evidence-based practice from a material that will be summarized in the body of the paper and discussions on how the practice will be shared. Velayutham et al. (2017) carried a pilot study to investigate the role of divided attention in revealing the balance as well as gait issues of the normal but older adults, and the patients diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and Alzheimer diseases (AD) when they are performing dual tasks.

The findings of the study indicated abnormality being significantly more in patients with FTD and AD. However, patients with FTD have significant defects in stride length and step cycle which is unaffected in AD. Additionally, mediolateral balance is significantly affected in AD while all balance parameters are uniformly affected in FTD. These minor differences are therefore useful in differentiating the two abnormalities across neurological patients.

The evidence in the paper is vital and can be implemented in the nursing profession. This is because the paper differentiates two of the significant neurological conditions that appear to have similar symptoms; hence alleviating the issue of misdiagnosis and mismanagement of the conditions. The information from the article is essential; hence it needs to be shared with other registered nurses.

The international nursing review journal serves as the best channel as it focusses predominantly on nursing policy, health policy, and social policy issues of relevance to nurses. The journal aims to advance the nursing profession and shape health and nursing policy (Turale, 2015). However, for the material to be published in the INR journal, modifications are necessary to ensure the findings meet the editors’ expectations for its publication.

A small panel of health practitioners is, therefore, essential to discuss and finetune the evidence from Velayutham and his colleagues. Additionally, there is limited research in the area of neurological conditions, and consequently, sufficient evidence is required to support policy change. Participating in related research will help gather enough evidence to warrant policy development.

As discussed earlier on in the paper, the INR journal is the most effective route when advocating for Nursing practice policy change. The information on the requirements of the journal and critical considerations to make while publishing with the journal can be found in Turale’s work, which is cited as a reference in this journal. The article generally differentiates two of the common neurological ailments, and how to handle them. Therefore, I would change the nursing practice when caring for the two conditions since each has its unique requirements.
