Scholars use various approaches to present their arguments in various fields to offer more profound insights into multiple concepts. These arguments then form the basis for analysing phenomena to increase human understanding. One of such approaches used widely by scholars and experts is the scientific approach. A scientific approach is an approach that bases its findings on measurable and empirical evidence to come up with conclusions that can be verified by others.
The scientific approach is considered the superior approach to understanding as its findings are more concrete and reliable as compared to other approaches. According to Flanagan (2013), scientific approaches are critical as they help scientists to make observations on particular phenomena, form hypothesis as well as collect evidence to support or dismiss existing theories. As such, these approaches came in handy in helping to come up with actual information free of falsehoods. More so use of scientific method reduces bias and prejudice as the findings can be put to the test to confirm them. Additionally, scientific methods rely on standardised approaches which guide the scientific experiments which reduce personal notions.

Scientific approach though preferred by most people has various limitations which reduce its authenticity. According to Baumgardner (nd), one weakness in scientific approach is the fact that it is very static and not absolute. What this means is that it can only address concepts which are happening at present. There is usually no way of answering questions from the past without using other approaches such as historical methods.More so scientific method must follow some set procedures which means that an error in following them may result in inconclusive evidence. In as much as supporters of scientific method find it objective, they are not free from biases. While wanting to achieve some targeted conclusions, some scientists can adjust the environment to come up with such results for personal reasons. As such, people feel that scientific approaches are not absolute and they should be combined with others to give conclusive and concrete results .
