As a registered nurse working in a psychiatric mental health hospital, I have used email to convey written messages for the last two years. Emailing has been the most effective written messaging service I have ever used in a professional setting. It involves the use of electronic mails sent via the computer (Kolin, 2013). Before sending an email to my manager, the application allows me to correct any typographical errors. Furthermore, it has helped me in maintaining my professional tone and language. Email messages are fast and almost received in real-time. Other than emails, I have also used memos in instances where I want to send a broadcast message to my colleagues
A few months ago, I received an instant message from a pharmaceutical company regarding an order I had placed on a few drugs that had gone out of stock. For my order to be accepted, I had to send a letter to the branch manager regarding the order I had placed for approval. In this instance, I had to take a formal approach and chose a method streamlined for busy readers. I opted to send a business email, in which I attached my quotation. Audience consideration matters in this case since a message's effectiveness will be improved if created and delivered appropriately (Ross, 2013).

Physical media is one of the most efficient communication media types to pass information to my patients. In this case, my patients cannot only hear the message, but they can also see and analyze the body language. Physical media provides one on one communication in which both parties can settle on mutual understanding. Also, this media works well when an individual needs to pass important messages to a large group of people within a short time.
