Biblically, success refers to conformity to God through the power of the spirit of God. In 1 Kings 2:3, David, his son that he would be successful if he obeyed God’s commands and following His teachings. Often, success is said to begin with obedience to the commandments of God, repentance, and eventually believing in Jesus Christ (Mark 1:15). Being successful in the Biblical perception starts with receiving the Holy Spirit which empowers and enables the believers to be obedient both the teachings and commands of Christ (Luke 24:49).

Again, obedience is always motivated by the newly formed implanted love of God as a result of denying the life of alienation and without hope in the world (Ephesians 2:12). Receiving Christ makes us be reconciled to God and the development of the desire to love him with all that we have.

Real success in the Bible is about believing, loving, and obeying God. It is focusing on the transformation by God’s love in people’s lives, minds, as well as hearts. “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.” (2 Corinthians 3:18).

Success, especially with wealth and worldly materials are gifts from God to his Children. The level of success is greatly attributed to the grace of God working in us for His good and glory (Armstrong, 2013). God is the source of all people have and has gifted all people differently just as illustrated in the parable of talents. God is the mastermind of working; thus, people are expected to work for them to be successful. In the book of Genesis, Adam and Eve were given the responsibility of caring for all that God had created.
