Protocol for Immigration and Customs Officers at Airports and Border Crossings

Among the protocols for immigration and customs officers at border crossings and airports is the inspection of people's passports, searching for verification that one has permission to be in the United States and the information that might prohibit them from doing so. Seghetti (2014) suggests that there is a need to provide the unopened, sealed envelope that has their immigration file for those entering on immigration visas. Additionally, the immigrants have to fill a health form to complete. Following form completion, one undergoes additional screening. In this case, health officers take the temperature and other medical screening, especially for those whose symptoms are visible. The customs officers also check the immigrants' luggage, searching for any contraband, which may lead to one's removal, which is immediate. Besides, the officers ought to ensure that the travellers have no illegal items, for example, illicit drugs.

What the U.S. Learned in Terms of Responses to The Recent COVID-19 Pandemic

Among the lessons learned by the U.S is that honesty and transparency are significant. According to modelling data, taking actions even a few days earlier would dramatically limit the virus's subsequent spread. According to Michael (2020), the U.S has also learned that successful responses lead to a hinge on decisive leadership. For example, learning from China, a combination involving widespread testing and tracing of contacts, led to legal enforcement of social and physical measures of distancing.

What the U.S. government can do to reduce the likelihood of an intentional release of a lab-created or lab-manipulated virus

To reduce the likelihood of an intentional release of a lab-created or lab-manipulated virus, there is a need to engage in conscientious preparation, to the extent allowed by specific methods and budgets. Additionally, part of the preparation should involve developing and researching needed approaches and tools, including bio forensics, techniques, and methods used to define threats. Following the onset of an attack, it helps have a better reinforced and prepared health agriculture system of response. Marc & Tom (2019) reinstates that; there is a need to have a communications plan, which is both consistent and reliable. For the people exposed, there should be availability for decontamination and treatment protocols.

On the other hand, plant and animal exposure requires a contamination and disposal plan. Mainly, infectious diseases are essential to place various methodologies, both reactive and prophylactic, to limit spread. Methods of restricting spread include quarantine, treatment, isolation and movement restrictions. Achieving management success can occur by reducing the period, which is infectious and reducing the chances of transmission.
