The Boy Scouts organization was founded in 1908 by a Calvary officer in Great Britain. At first, the movement targeted boys who were between 11 and 15 years (Edgell, 2015). However, later on, the organization became a general program to accommodate both younger and older boys. In 1910, earnest Thompson formed the Boy Scouts of America, an organization that incorporated camping as the primary part of its program.

2) The organization's structure (where is it located, how many members does it have, and what tactics do they use?)

The Boy Scout organization is located in the United States. It is among the largest scouting organization in the United States. It holds more than 2.5 million youth participants and about 1 million adults' volunteers (Edgell, 2015). The organization has a considerable number of members. However, its membership has four programs which include cub scouting, boy scouting, venturing and sea scouting. The organization contains over 100,000 scouts who are physically or mentally disabled (Edgell, 2015).

Boy Scout organization uses both the active and passive scouting styles as their primary tactics during their operations. An acting scouting tactic is where the boys as scouts keep on moving, driving on ridges or even making circles with the aim of spotting an enemy. On the other hand, passive scouting tactic is where the scout remains sited in a particular location waiting for the enemy to move into an area where there view range is appropriate.

3) Major campaigns or issues they focus on and a description of the issues

Boy Scout organization focuses mostly on both ethical and moral issues. Its most significant concern is to support young people to develop physically, mentally and spiritually (Dedman, 2016). More so, its focus is to ensure that young boys can help themselves and also help others during their lifetime. In most of the time, youth are known to be poor when it comes to ethical and moral perspectives. The young generation is the leading population that mostly engages in immoral and unethical practices. Therefore, they significantly demand better guidance that can make them achieve their goals in the future. Most importantly, the youth are not perfect to make the right decisions concerning their lives. Therefore, the Boy Scout organization serves as an appropriate approach that strives to save the life of a youth.

4) Solutions they propose for these issues/Approaches to the issues

Boy Scout organization advocates for various solutions concerning ethical and moral issues among the youths. It suggests that the government should provide enough ethics experts. In other words, there should be trained individuals to educate the community about the ethical choice and how the youth should behave to avoid immorality in the society (Dedman, 2016). The ethical expert must confidentially talk with the youth by helping them look at a given situation from other perspectives. Some of the approaches the organization proposes to address ethical and moral issues include sponsoring ethics journals and books club. It also reaches out to several professional associations that eventually provide enough resources needed to train the youth on ethical matters.

5) Any programs or outreach they promote/run

The Boy Scout organization provides various other programs that are beyond a traditional membership. For example, it offers a “Lone Scouting program” which is designed to allow individuals who by bad luck will not become boy scouts to participate in scouting experience (Hantover, 2018). It also offers a STEM scout program which mainly focuses on STEM learning as well as the career development for both girls and boys in all categories of learning. Most importantly, the organization offers Learning for Life program which is based on work site and school.

6) Major successes

Boy Scout organization has made a lot of achievements over the last decades of its operation. It has met its objective by changing the boy character in a quite significant way. It has transformed a large group of boys by training them how to become good citizens as well as making the majority of the youth to be more mentally, spiritually and physically fit. More so, the organization has been classified as one among the best organization in the world. It has enabled youth to emerge victorious when making ethical and moral choices.

Conclusion

Boy Scout organization is an organization in the United State whose focus is to shape the lives of the youth. For the last many years of its operation, the organization has been performing excellently by achieving all its goals by adhering to its mission. Its major issue of concern is based on ethical and moral choices. It has emerged triumphant by providing solutions that are valid to address such matters.
