Each business needs to keep track of the business information it holds for its clientele. One way of doing so is by analyzing the data that relates to business analysis. That is where business intelligence comes in handy. Business intelligence systems (BI systems) are comprised of the specific strategies and technologies that a given business would use to analyze the data collected in the business information (Arnott, Lizama, & Song, 2017). Business intelligence encompasses the historical, current and the future analysis of the data in a business. Business intelligence systems have various functions. One of the functions of the BI systems is reporting. The business information can be reported using the systems (Arnott, Lizama, & Song, 2017). The other function of the BI systems is to analyze the online processing of data. The BI systems also conduct the noble role of enabling the business management such as in the case of Kelly Sanders's Verve. Therefore, the BI systems will make it easier for Verve to manage the information of the increasing customer base.

One of the types of BI systems is spreadsheets. Spreadsheets are interactive computer applications that enable a user to organize data in tabular form for ease of analysis and understanding (Peters et al., 2016). The rows and columns also lead to the ease of locating data in the tables (Peters et al., 2016). Kelly Sanders can make use of the spreadsheets to profile the customer information and make it available each time there is a need to analyze the information at Verve (Peters et al., 2016). The spreadsheets ability to organize information will be instrumental to the service of the increasing customer base at Verve (Peters et al., 2016).

The other type of the BI systems is the reporting and querying software. In a business, the BI systems are responsible for the historical, current, and predictive data analysis (Shollo & Galliers, 2016). Therefore, the reporting and the querying software will be quintessential to the act of keeping up with the business performance at Verve. The reporting and querying software will also be useful in the extraction, sorting, and the summarization of the data collected regarding the performance of the business (Shollo & Galliers, 2016). Thus, it will be an essential aspect of business intelligence for Kelly Sanders (Shollo & Galliers, 2016).

The third type of the BI systems is the online analytical processing. The online analytical processing is a data processing approach that deals with multi-dimensional analytical queries within a short time (Yeoh & Popovič, 2016). The online analytical processing will come in handy with the management of the business information at Verve. The applications that run the online analytical processing type of BI systems are those that help in the aspects of a business such as business reporting, forecasting, marketing and budgeting(Yeoh & Popovič, 2016). Such functions will help Kelly Sanders get towards the achievement of her goal to deal with each customer at Verve individually (Yeoh & Popovič, 2016).

The other type of BI systems is the business performance management. Verve is a business that is expanding both in revenues and in the customer base. Kelly Sanders has set both long-term and short-term goals to ensure that the business is a success and keeps growing day in day out (Larson & Chang, 2016). The business performance management, as a kind of the BI systems, helps in the realization of the short-term and the long-term business goals that the business has come up within the course of its operations (Larson & Chang, 2016).

The other type of the BI systems that Verve can make use of is the decision engineering. Decision engineering is the business intelligence systems approach that deals with the organizational decision-making process (Wang, 2015). Kelly Sanders has made various decisions that have enabled Verve to be a business that is growing and outstanding in its industry. Such decisions have attracted more customers to her venture she does her best in providing for their needs (Wang, 2015). The decision engineering will help her make better and more informed decisions based on the business information available.

One recommendation on BI systems that Verve needs to implement is the use of spreadsheets. One advantage of the use of spreadsheets is that the information stored on the computer software on business information is precise and can easily be understood (Arnott, Lizama, & Song, 2017). That will save time for Kelly Sanders as she keeps up with the customer information in her business. The other advantage of the use of spreadsheets is that they are user-friendly and require little or no prior knowledge on their use. That will mean that Kelly Sanders does not have to invest the money and time in educating herself on the use of spreadsheets to profile her customers' information (Arnott, Lizama, & Song, 2017). The spreadsheets are also up to date and have an arrangement that is easy to keep track. Each of the customers at Verve will have an entry that will be regularly updated each time they visit the business. That will help Kelly to understand the tastes and preferences of her customers (Arnott, Lizama, & Song, 2017).

The other recommendation on BI systems that Verve will need to implement is the decision engineering. Kelly Sanders has had to make critical business decisions regarding the customer retention and improved customer service. She will also make such decisions in the current state of the business and the future business improvements (Wang, 2015). The decision-engineering tool will come in handy and integrate with the already existing technologies such as the spreadsheets to ensure that the business has made decisions that are binding and will have a positive impact to the future of the business (Wang, 2015). Kelly Sanders has the various approaches she uses to make the business decisions regarding the operations and customer service. Decision engineering will come in handy in the implementation of such decisions and their functionality. Decision engineering too will be of a low cost and easy to implement in the business specifics. That will enable Kelly Sanders to focus on the one to one service of her customers to make sure they are adequately served, and they are satisfied with their service at Verve (Wang, 2015).
