The relationship between population increase and climate change is imminent as human population growth perceives to contribute to global warming. The use of fossil fuels mechanizes human lifestyles, and thus as the population increases, the demand for gas, oil, carbon dioxide, and other fuel mined increases (Hite & Seitz, 2016). Environmentalists indicate that as the population increases, the planet loses its ability to withhold and withstand the load of greenhouse gases such as CO2, hence weakening the atmosphere as the ecosystems get affected. Developed countries such as the United States contribute to a high level of CO2 output, and this is due to rapid industrialization and immigration activities, thus magnifying the impacts of global warming.

I believe that fertility Control is an effective strategy to halt climate change. First, an ecosystem exists when there are a balanced and stabilized climate and population change. Controlling fertility always improves child health, maternal, and welfare as natural resources are conserved (Hickey, Rieder & Earl, 2016). Both developed and undeveloped countries can be done fertility control through family planning. Poverty reduction, infant mortality decreased, and availability of basic human rights to women and girls are part of activities that enhance fertility control. As a basic right, women education regarding birth control with ease of access to family planning services help in controlling the birth rate. Climate change will incur if the population growth reduces through fertility control. A balanced ecosystem will help to curb global warming, and this is through fertility control that will limit human activities associated with climate change.

I concur with Natasha Fields that slowing down global warming require resources to educate girl child on how to control the birth rate and take into consideration fertility control through family planning. A lot of activities done by humans leads to global warming, and if population growth decreases through fertility control as perceived by climatologists, global warming will slow down rapidly. Education is a human right, and educating a girl child on fertility control is paramount.
