In women, the most prevalent forms include cervical cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, and colorectal cancer. In youngsters, the most prevalent types are brain tumors and acute lymphoblastic leukemia. As of the year 2010, the monetary costs of cancer were approximated at $1.16 trillion annually (Siegel, Miller & Jemal, 2020). These cancer statistics are alarming and thus necessitating detailed exploration. The current paper seeks to explore the topic of cancer and approach to care based on the utilization of the nursing process. 

Describe the diagnosis and staging of cancer

Typically, when cancer is suspected, certain types of imaging exams, like computed tomography (CT), ultrasonography, or x-rays, are performed. In stages two and three, tumors are great sizes, have spread to the adjacent tissues, have invaded the lymph nodes but not to the other body parts. The fourth step is implementation. The nurse implements care as per the care plan.
