An anthropologist brings about new learning and insights to an organization and the members of the team. They usually are good observers of human behavior and develop a deep understanding of how people interact physically and emotionally. The characteristics that of the anthropologist innovation style that I do feel aligns with my features is practicing of the Zen principles of beginners mind (Kelly & Littman, 2005).

An example in this nursing field where this ideas or innovation matches mine is when it provides a forum for acquiring knowledge. I find it easy to attain enlightenment considering that it is easy for me to keep my mind and practice pure in its fundamental sense. As an anthropologist I focus on the different topics which include political ecology of disease, the effect of environment on health outcomes. The knowledge and skills on the cultural diversity that I have acquired will enable me to strengthen and expand health care delivery system. I have learnt that the concept of wellness and treatment modalities originate from the cultural perspective or world view. Having knowledge on different cultures and how they impact healthcare enables me to deliver quality service to patients (O’Toole, 2014).

Anthropologists draw their influences by listening to their intuition. Working in the healthcare profession intuition has been one of my greatest guides. Intuition has provided the many insights on patients something that cannot be provided by any journal or textbook. Intuition has a great influence on the patient wellbeing and needs to be recognized as an important nursing tool. Having worked in the same field for a very long time, one gains experience, which becomes partly intuition enabling them to deliver good services to patients and effectively handle any incidence that could have lead into a crisis.

I think the anthropologist face of innovation can positively impact the interprofessional teams when planning a project. It enables on to look into important team issues from a socio-cultural perspective. It enables one to lead teams and establish proper work culture to allow them to achieve their desired company outcomes. The skills gained include the listening abilities, social research and good cultural understanding which forms some of the most important elements while working with the team (O’Toole, 2014).
