People need to have leaders they trust and depend on during a time of crisis. At a time of crisis, leaders thus need to demonstrate the ability to be able to deliver the best results for people. The leaders who oversee the rescue of the thirty-three miners during San Jose disaster demonstrated effective leadership skills during a crisis. Path-Goal Theory

The way the leader, in this case, managed the situation until they rescued the miners was an example of path-goal theory in action. It all begun by goal clarification, which had an impact in the manner employers' worked until their employees meet the organization’s goal. For instance, when he noted that workers accorded Walter Véliz a lot of respect, he appointed him as the leader of the drilling operation since the situation demanded such a person.
Effective Communication
Effective communication was at the center of the entire operations. The team leaders thrived in giving instructions, demonstrating activities, and held close discussions concerning the matter at hand. In many occasions, Sougarret held numerous meetings with the drilling experts and geologists at the accident site. It is through such meetings that he learned that victims should gather a specific point underground if they had survived the accident and followed protocol. Also, it is through their constant brainstorming that they came up with the alternative solutions used to help rescue the victims ( Rashid, Edmondson & Leonard, 2013). Through communication, the leader was able to have a network of people and organizations such as American drilling experts and Chilean Navy and United Parcel service all that help in making the operations successful. SituationalApproach to Leadership and Opinion
The leaders varied their level of leadership and skills based on the situations. For instance, they had to lobby for other organizations such as Chilean Navy and United Parcel service to help with the situations since these were organizations that were familiar to such a situation ( Wikström&Treiber, 2016). Besides , they had to assess the readiness of the team and only select those that had specific expertise to help in the accident case. Also, the leaders proved their ability to manage the situation by the situational leader by demonstrating some leadership competencies that were necessary for the situation, such diagnosing to understand the situation. Based on the way path, in this case, the management utilizes situational theory. I have learned to be flexible and adaptive in many approaches to issues based on how they present themselves.
