Telehealth and telemedicine are two terms that are common in the medical field. Understanding the difference between the two terms is thus critical in recognizing their role in the healthcare sector. The definitions of the two terms show their difference. However, it does not cover in-depth differences between the two terms. From the definition, the scope of each of the terms are clear. For instance, Telehealth involves more of healthcare activities that support clinical services, while telemedicine involves mostly with clinical health services. However, there was a need to mention critical elements that make the two terms different, even though they apply to the hospital setting. For instance, it would have been more relevant and more precise for the discussion to mention the nature of staff who are part of each process, the suitable team, and the nature of services that are part of the two processes ( Lee & Hughes, 2017).

The discussion is thorough, relevant, and precise on differentiating telehealth and telemedicine. Telehealth has a broad scope that covers remote services and education as well as other activities that are in support of clinical activities. Screening for diseases through the use of telecommunication technologies is one of the best examples. Further, the discussion mentions the advantage of telehealth, which makes it different from telemedicine. It breaks the geographical barrier to healthcare access and thus plays a critical role in societal access to healthcare ( Yao et al., 2019). Besides,t elemedicine is a subset of telehealth. Therefore, it has a narrow scope than Telehealth. Its concern is the application of technology to clinical medicine practices. Its importance in healthcare, therefore, is accuracy, speed, research, and quality of care provided to the clients. In this sense, therefore, the discussion is at its best in clearly and relevantly differentiating telemedicine from telehealth.
