Question 1
I discovered the application of various Key Performance Indicators (KPI) following the discussion with Cleveland Clinic’s quality expert to enhance quality and outcomes in the issuing of goods and services. According to Rama et al. (2019) the provision of healthcare services requires proper management to enhance efficiency. The KPIs embody the strategic objectives with their set-up tuned to measure performance, vis-à-vis a specific target (Kamila, 2018). Healthcare service providers target the delivery of proper healthcare for the benefit of the community to achieve adequate medical support (Lee, 2017). Some of the metrics I noted from our discussion include Average Hospital Stay, Patient Wait Time, Treatment Costs, and Hospital Readmission Rates.
Question 2
From our discussion, I discovered that the target of delivering quality healthcare involving ideal output through patient satisfaction informed the selection of the metrics. Cleveland Clinic targets a healthy community conceptualized by the selected metrics targeting the improvement of healthcare provision (Knoer et al., 2018). Firstly, Average Hospital Stay targeted evaluating the period in which patients stay in the medical institution as they get services. It communicates the numbers the hospital expects at a given period to enhance their management considering available space. Secondly, Patient Wait Time explored the waiting periods to improve patient satisfaction. It communicates how quick the delivery of services comes for those seeking medical assistance from the establishment. Thirdly, Treatment Costs targeted, illuminating the charges incurred for services at the medical center. Lastly, Hospital Readmission Rates tracked the numbers that re-seek products and services. The target of enhancing performance and output by improving the healthcare service provision informed the selection of the mentioned metrics.

Question 3
KPI | Weighted Average |
Average Hospital Stay | 17% |
Patient Wait Time | 13% |
Treatment Costs | 65% |
Hospital Readmission Rates | 10% |
Considering the sample of the health organization’s metrics weighted to an average of 100%, the firm failed to meet all the goals and objectives. Cleveland Clinic’s goals and objectives involve “touching more lives, relieving suffering, and providing every patient the best care and experience” (“Mission, Vision, Values”). The weighted averages from the sample are low for Average Hospital Stay, Patient Wait Time, and Hospital Readmission Rates. It is high, on the other hand, for Treatment Costs. It communicates, achieving most of the health organization’s targets like touching many lives and relieving suffering. However, it shows a shortcoming in providing every patient with the best care and experience with the poor hurting.
