Antibiotics resistance problem is my clinical interest due to its impact in public health. In fact, WHO has reported this issues a threat to global health and development. The antibiotic resistance is growing widely in various parts of the world at alarming levels. Resistance mechanisms never seen before have emerged, which has threatened the ability of clinicians to treat infectious diseases. Public health professionals are finding it hard to contain conditions such as pneumonia and tuberculosis. According to CDC, two million people become sick annually because of antibiotic resistance infections (Ventola, 2015) . This shows the gravity of antibiotics resistance in our society. Clinicians often over-prescribe and over-use these drugs, which is one root of the problem. The key words that have been used to search this problem are antibiotics, resistance, problem, clinical, and issues. The four peered reviewed journals include the antibiotics resistance crisis, antibiotic resistance; a rundown global crisis, bacterial antibiotics resistance, and the antibiotics resistance crisis focusing on the US. The four databases that these journals can be found include PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, and CINAHL.
The first Journal article is the Antibiotics Resistance Crisis. This article is important for this clinical interest because it explains the emergence and the effects of antibiotic’s resistance. The author discusses the history of this problem and the current scope of the problem in the US and other parts of the world. There is a table that displays the early antibiotics resistance that dates back to 1985. However, the problem has become complex as it has become difficult for clinicians to dispense treatment. The author examines the root causes of this epidemic pointing to issues surrounding availability and regulation loopholes on antibiotics. Secondly, the journal states that inappropriate prescribing is a major concern leading to this resistance. The health practitioners are over-prescribing hence causing resistance among the public. Ventola (2015) major objective on the article is to highlight the scope of the antibiotic resistance in society. The author uses qualitative research whereby information is from content analysis and historical data. Notably, the strength of this method is great evaluation of materials. For instance, there is use of historical data associated with antibiotics resistance.

The second journal article is Bacterial Antibiotics Resistance whereby the author examines orthopedic infections. The journal looks at the increase in antibiotics prices due to emergence of resistant bacteria. In the US, around 23000 people die annually with an economic impact of about $60 billion ( Li & Webster, 2018). According to the author, increased mortality rates have been experienced due to antibiotics resistance. It has become difficult for patient to respond to current medications. The author examines resistance profiles in regard to orthopedic infections. His analysis is a clear indication on the scope of the problem. The aim of this article is discussing the antibiotic resistance by examining the orthopedic infections in particular. The research methodology in this journal is qualitative whereby the author has used survey and content analysis. The strength of this methodology is the use of available data in making relevant conclusions. Notably, the author uses current extensive research done on orthopedic infections and antibiotic resistance.
The third journal is Antibiotic Resistance; A Rundown of a Global Crisis . The author examines issues surrounding availability and misuse of antibiotics that result in antibiotic resistance. There should be comprehensive efforts to ensure the resistance mechanisms are managed for proper treatment. The articles narrates the history of antibiotics resistance from the 1930s and the developments to the current state. Notably, the economic impact of this problem cannot be ignored. With the increasingly number of death associated with the problem, statistics show that it costs the United States about $8 billion ( Aslam et al., 2008). The patients with antibiotics stay in hospitals longer than the normal period, which has proved to be expensive to the healthcare system. The journal examines the causes of antibiotics resistance and the possible solutions. As per the article, the aim of the author was putting into perspective the global antibiotics resistance problems. The methodology used is qualitative because it has relied on research analysis and historical medical data. The strength of the research method is that even though the data is complex it has been used effectively to find relevant conclusions.
The fourth journal is The Antibiotics Resistance with Focus on the United States . The journal examines the evolution of antibiotics resistance since the late 1920s. Even though the antibiotics have been saving lives for many years, the resistance has been disastrous (Martens & Demain, 2017) . According to the article, it has become a crisis as people are losing their lives due to this problem. Moreover, the costs of treatment has been on the rise as alternative antibiotics are becoming expensive. The journal contends that there is still room to find lasting solutions to save lives. The aim of the article was to show the scope of the problem and impact of antibiotics resistance in the United States. The author has used qualitative methodology because of the historical data and content analysis. Its strength is that it gives the author field-specific insight regarding antibiotics resistance.
