Part 1
Effective communication and collaboration are essential to giving patients the best quality and safe care. Effective communication among the health care professionals encourages exceptional teamwork, promoting clarity and continuity of the high quality and safe patient care in the healthcare facility. It also promotes collaboration and great teamwork that helps prevent any error from occurring when handling the patients and helps improve the patient's experience, delivering excellent patient outcomes that also reduce healthcare costs (Anderson et al., 2019) . Effective communication and collaboration among the health professionals help improve efficiency and increase the patient's satisfaction rate and support the health facilities save money by reducing operational influences (Hicks, 2020). Collaboration among health professionals helps them work together openly, and their goals become more aligned, which helps them achieve a higher success rate in achieving their goals.
Part 2
During the BSN program, I met essential VI in a class where our professor was determined to educate us on the importance of the Essential VI. He taught us the importance of teamwork in ensuring the patient's safety. The professor was practical to a point where he asked us to form small groups and assume that we are working in a hospital facility and develop ways to have interprofessional communication and collaboration for him to ensure we understood the topic. This was fun as I used what I learned on the essential VI in demonstrating appropriate teamwork and used collaborative strategies when working in the group (American Association of Colleges of Nursing, 2008) . I used the negotiation and conflict resolution techniques to ensure that we worked well as a team and delivered our discussion as per our professor's expectations. With this, the lecture knew that when we get into the healthcare facilities, we will effectively exercise the Essential VI.
