Stakeholders are the people, organizations, or companies which are involved in a particular project either internally or externally. Either of these groups is bound to either benefit or lose in one way or the other. The changes, in this case, involve a hospital setting in mental health awareness. The issue of mental health has had controversies over the years due to its various forms, and to what extent can a person know that they are affected. This has brought about the need to change the way people are made aware of the condition to be able to manage it effectively. The proposed change is to have all waiting bay sections within hospitals fitted with screens, which would be used to broadcast the importance of mental health awareness among other medical concerns. This will ensure that everyone being served at the hospital is made aware of the mental health issues.
In this project, the internal stakeholders involved would be healthcare workers, I.T personnel within the facilities, and the management. The external stakeholders may involve the patients, investors who would supply the required material, and the general public. To successfully implement the changes, all the stakeholders are important ( Mosadeghrad, 2014). The internal stakeholders are important in the manner that they are directly involved in the project. One needs to have the internal stakeholders well conversant with the project to help in informing and educating the external stakeholders who are mostly patients, among others. The importance of the external stakeholders is through funding, consuming the services, and putting the information into use, among others. To secure the support of the stakeholders, the primary way is by soliciting, while others develop the interest of joining the project ( Høiseth & Keitsch, 2015). In this case, I would need to thoroughly explain my project to the stakeholders in the best way possible. They then evaluate the efficiency of the project and the benefits it brings before pledging their support.
