The evolvement of the business ascertains that there need be effective communication among the stakeholders, managers, and the staff members. Proper communication is achieved by a combination of proper cadence and channels to reach the supposed audience (Need, 2006).

Method

Samples of the communication policies, booklets, and clippings of news, demographic data, and policies were examined and carefully analyzed . All these files were received from the company head office and time was taken to analyze the communication tools as well as patterns among the stakeholders, staff members, and managers.

Secondly, on site a chosen auditing team conducted interviews with various groups of personnel working in Teva Pharmaceuticals . The interviews were undertaken to obtain information from the internal and external audience of the company. The interviewed parties include the managers, staff members and some stakeholders.

Findings

The company website is fine and contains explicit images and brief details about what it does, its networks and contacts. The external audience can easily trace information regarding the firm. Moreover, the site is interactive and captivating to the eye of a user. On the other hand, the company records from the newsletters, booklets, and clippings are aimed to the customers. Out of three hundred brochures , only thirty-three addressed the internal affairs of the company concerning expansion plans and profit margins. Moreover, the thirty-three is brief and appear to assume that the audience already knows the financial books of the enterprise . Fifty concerned persons were interviewed . Ten of the fifty were stakeholders, who were interviewed via email, twenty-five were staff members who were interviewed personally during their lunch breaks, and fifteen were managers who were interviewed via mail. The interviews comprised of closed-ended questions with only a few open-ended ones.

Three of the stakeholders never submitted their responses while the seven that did insist that communication was done via digital means and hence useful . The stakeholders said they receive updates frequently from the managers on the performance and decisions of the company. The twenty-five staff members stated that they get information through memos sent to them via email and sometimes phone calls in case of emergencies. Ten out of the fifteen managers did not hand in their responses and failed to pick up their phones when called. However, the five managers insisted there was effective communication flow despite a few delays experienced when e mails are sent to people. Moreover, they insisted that they make regular prints that address significant issues about the firm hence dispelling any skepticism in public about the company.

Problem

The biggest problem that faces Teva communication network despite the usage of digital methods is the effectiveness in delivering information. According to the interviewees, especially the staff members and managers, information is provided, but the alert of such delivery to the recipient is not immediate. In other words, information can be communicated via one’s email but how effective one gains knowledge of such depends on how often he or she checks their mail. Analysis of the prints by the company suggests that the company fails to give in-depth information about its proceedings with its superficial details assuming the audience already knows.

Literature Review

According to Need (2006), communications in a department, unit, group, or the entire organization can be detrimental. Need (2006) insists that the best way to solve such problems is to have a scheduled time for communication. It is effective to note down issues occurring at the place of work and then have a particular time set apart for the sole purpose of communicating the problem . By doing so, one ensures that every person is aware of the ongoing event.

( Sriussadaporn, 2006 ) remains adamant that lack of effective communication is an internal problem that can be fixed . However, to do so, there must be proper planning and a strategy of ensuring communication is effective. The management decides on ways that can ease communication and in making such a decision, they ought to involve the staff members. Involving staff members ensures that every person gives an opinion on why communication is not as effective as it should and how they feel the problem need be addressed .

Recommendation

Teva needs to designate a unit of communication experts to oversee the communication processes in the firm. The company should hire this team of experts to conduct regular assessments and supervise the reshaping process of communication in the business . Secondly, the company should have timed sessions for communicating with its staff and stakeholders. By doing so, it will ensure that every person is aware of the pertinent information. Emergency details should be communicated via phone messages and calls to ensure a person receives the information as soon as possible.

Conclusion

An organization has the sole responsibility of maintaining contact with all the players in its business confines. Effective communication is the key to achieving this state and thus firms need ensure that they install mechanisms that will help them do that.
