Community-oriented policing is a partnership between law enforcement officers and community members that strives to develop working relationships between the police and the community ( Epstein et al., 2018) . Its main purpose is to nurture law enforcement officers’ relationships with community members through local agencies that reduce social disorder and maintain law and order. COP works well in the community by creating a mutual understanding between community members and the police concerning their roles in crime prevention. COP also works by supplementing police patrols through neighborhood watch groups and private guards and enhancing police accountability within communities.
