Community practice experience activities
This week, I conducted my practicum at the adult day care center in Green acres Florida. My focus was to become oriented to the unit to successfully deal with the ideas and emotions concerning death and dying. I experienced several challenges and opportunities during the community experience activities. I gained experience, skills, and knowledge that will help me become a competent registered nurse in the future (Dorell, Östlund, & Sundin, 2016). Indeed, I acquired invaluable knowledge and inner growth that will enable me to deliver topnotch care to patients and positively contribute to my profession while striving to meet the expectations of my organization.
Response to week 7 discussion
As a registered nurse, I provided compassionate, evidence-based, and collaborative advanced nursing practices to community members. I aimed to provide positive course health outcomes in compliance with foundations of practice and advocating for the patients to build and reinforce long-lasting relationships with them (Shivalli, Majra, Akshaya, & Qadiri, 2015). I was keen on the patients’ rights to protect them during care delivery with the overall goal of positive health outcomes.

Reflection
In week 7, I was assigned the role of caring for a female adult patient who suffered from diabetes. She has been living with her condition for many years and had visited many other medical facilities seeking a professional provider. From her medical history, I realized that she was dissatisfied with the services previously offered by the other professionals in trying to manage the condition. I found it difficult to deal with the client because she continuously complained about negligence and malpractice; aspects that she said were responsible for her worsening health condition. I was keen on improving my practice skills to deal with the situation and demonstrate competency throughout my practicum experience (WHO, 2010). I was committed to handle her case within the recommended practice guidelines to manage possible risks and enhancing my practice skills to improve care management. I also introduced clinical interventions to help such clients lessen the impacts of their conditions in the future; hence, successfully attaining my practicum goals and objectives.
