There are various skills and concepts I learned, that will play a critical role in my career. These include analytical skills, initiative, advocacy, teamwork, and communication.
Communication
Communication helps to facilitate the sharing of information between various parties. In public health, communication is essential since numerous agencies are involved in the public health field, and none of them operates independently. During communication, it is necessary to consider the audience that is being targeted and then decide the best channels to reach that population. An example is when creating awareness about a health issue. When communicating with other health experts, medical terms and statistics will be used to highlight the extent of the issue and the impact it has on various communities. However, when the communication is targeted at the community, using infographics is more useful to highlight the same issue compared to the use of statistics. I aim to use communication in my career to ensure that the target recipients receive the required information and create an understanding environment with my patients.

Advocacy
Advocacy is important in public health because it involves collaborating with governmental agencies and companies that have the mandate to form relevant regulations, establish safety standards, and control prices of various medications. All of these factors affect the health decisions that are made by the rest of the population. In public health, advocacy plays a critical role in facilitating increased access to healthcare by communities. I will be using advocacy initiatives to initiative health programs within the community and push drug producers to have cheaper drugs. For the best impact on the society, a health advocate should strive to address health issues that affect the particular people, which will result in positive health outcomes for them.
Teamwork
Issues relating to public health can only be resolved when different parties with the same interests work together. It is essential that public health workers should be able to facilitate professional collaborations with other stakeholders while undertaking their duties. There are various benefits of embracing teamwork in public health. Through teamwork, I will be able to facilitates positive health outcomes in the community since all the necessary stakeholders will work together to deal with various health issues. Teamwork will help improve the relationship between health workers and the community in my practice, thus enhancing healthcare services delivery. Through teamwork, I will be able to improve the health initiatives and advocacy.
Initiative
Initiative is vital in public health since it involves the identification of various needs in the community and seeking ways that these issues can be resolved. Healthcare workers who interact with people will often identify areas of improvement and gaps that exist in the healthcare system. In these circumstances, the best strategy would be to seek solutions, such as undertaking a study on the issue or developing funding proposals to relevant stakeholders. I will use initiative to understand common health issues in the society and how I can assist in addressing them to promote a healthy society. A combination of initiative, effective communication, and advocacy can play a critical role in improving healthcare in the community.
Analytical skills
Analytical skills are useful in the identification of relevant data relating to health and turning the information into actionable data. The needs of communities are different, and these can be determined by evaluating the available health data. Community health assessments have to be developed that will ensure the identification of the health needs of the community through the collection and analysis of the relevant data. I will use nalytical skills to evaluate and analyze collected data and establish ways to improve the health outcomes of various communities.
