Conflict theory perspective views the earth as full of tension and struggle. In as much as peace and order are the most important things in the world, conflict theory seek to find the tension that exists behind peace and stability between those who hold more power, money, titles, resources, and valuables than those who don’t have. There is a conflict of interest between both parties. Those who have desires to retain them and the have- not’s wants to secure them. This explains why a group of people choose to perform specific actions, and why societies function in a certain way. Conflict theory perspective sees society as a group of systems that are not equal. It majorly focuses on tensions and conflicts amongst system part s and the results of it. Conflict sociologist study why those who have wealth, power, and control economy do not want to share with those who do not have. A good example is a factory worker and peasant farmer. The theory explains why they are always in conflict with their bosses because of opposed interest. The elite controls them because they are weak and needy. The effects of this conflicts, tension, and a bad relationship are continuous change in society.

To explain the application of conflict theory perspective, let us look at political parties. Different political parties will conflict because each one has got their preferred candidate whom they believe he or she will be a source of change and liberate them from the oppression of those in power to better lives if they win elections. They think that is the only way of bringing change to the society. Without political parties, competitions and conflicts then politics would not make any sense anyway. It will mean people are happy with leaders in power, but it will never happen like that according to this theory because everybody desires to be in power. Followers of each political party show loyalty by supporting their party leaders. They do so by attending rallies, wearing clothes with party colors’, example hats and jerseys. They are always at war amongst themselves because of unmet promises by the politicians. Every party believes they are the agent of change, and without struggling, conflicts, and the conflicting interest and agendas then change will never happen. Conflict sociologist believes that by allowing systems to have different opinions, the result is better communities. Sociologists shape the world system by negotiating over the balance of resources and power to achieve some degree of stability and accommodation of each other. However, conflict theory has underlying assumptions which show that conflicting interest and agenda are due to unequal distribution of valuable resources. The conflicts, however, are inevitable because those who have the power and wealth are not willing to share them with those who do not have. Such conflicts in the long will bring change because each concerned party wants to be heard.

In conclusion, the human organization is in a constant state of conflict, and unequal social relations is the only way change will occur. Resources and power will be shared because failure to do that then instability will happen and those in power fear war, destruction, loss of resources, loss of power and even loss of lives. This improves the general growth of the economy and good co-existence amongst themselves.
