In today’s society, there are various influential forces that affect individual's values. In my view, a family is the single most force that influences the society today. There are a number of meanings that are attributed to the term “Family.” However, the meaning of the term may differ due to a number of variables that change from one community to another and may shape an individual’s worldviews. Many people tend to learn morals from direct examples that they observe from their family members or people closest to them. As such, a family is perceived as the most influential force that guides individual’s personal values as they experience life with the rest of the society (Balswick & Balswick, 2007). In essence, what people learn from their homes is what they practice with the rest of the society. Further, when the family values are based on the Christian worldview, people can practice Gods teachings with other believers and the example can be demonstrated through individual’s lives, which may suggest what it is like to live accordant to Gods commandments. The family is perceived as the most important and valuable gift among Christians. It is an important term that means to feel secure and to have someone closer that an individual can count on and share the problems with. Besides, a family can be used to mean and to show respect and responsibility to each other. Therefore, a family means love and to have someone that will be available through good and bad times (Balswick & Balswick, 2007). A family is about encouragement, understanding, hope, as well as comfort. Also, it refers to morals, deals, and faith. All these are important because it makes individuals feel secure and happy regardless of what is happening in their life. Therefore, this is one of the main reasons why a family is important in Christian's everyday lives. The other important aspect of a family is that it provides love and a setting for individual’s growth (Cahill, 2000). Notably, a family is considered as the most important influence in the life of younger people. From their first moment in life, younger people depend on their parents and families to provide them with protection and vital needs. Therefore, parents and families are vital in the development of a child since they assist in forming their first relationship. A family is also crucial in the life of individual's because it offers security to its members, identity, as well as values regardless of their age. For this reason, when a family member feels insecure, he seeks assistance and protection from family members. Also, people learn about their sense of self, which enable them to gain a foundation for the rest of their lives. Therefore, the foundation comprises of family values that are provided on the basis of their moral codes. When people spend time with their family members, they demonstrate the value of love, appreciation, as well as communication. In conclusion, following a family’s traditions, there are a number of experiences that are created together on regular basis. Such experiences enable family members to develop a stronger sense of belonging because they bond together and make each other feel important. Therefore, a perfect Christian family is a good example of a whole society.
