Plants depend on the sun to aid their process of photosynthesis and production of food. If humans also depended on photosynthesis for their food, the consequences would not be the same. If photosynthesis happened in humans, the immune system would attack the chloroplast. The immune system may also attack mitochondria if they are present in the blood. Mitochondria may only be safe if they are in the cell. Green is the color of chlorophyll which is pigment responsible for making food in plants. This means that the melanocytes of human skin could be forced to produce another pigment to cause the skin to take a green color with which human are not familiar. Too much exposure to sunlight may lead to people getting sunburn and skin cancer. Cancer is already a severe problem which scientists and medics are researching on how to solve, and therefore, exposing the skin in the sun may not be taken easily by humans. Ultraviolet components of sunlight also cause damage to the living cells. To consume this before causing harm, vertebrates have melanin while plants produce the screening elements. This means that a sunscreen pigment which does not make the skin dark like melanin may be produced.  Absorption of water by humans may also have to increase to allow photosynthesis to take place. It is clear that there are places where there is no water. People living in these areas like deserts do not have enough water and, therefore, no photosynthesis. Humans may not produce much energy because of the thickness of the skin which about 1.8m. Only half of this may be exposed to sunlight and only when a person is naked. In a day human being need to sit in the sun for 150 hours to produce10, 000 KJ which is the amount of energy that the body needs in a day.
