The business world experiences an upsurge in demand at times and lapses at other times of the year. The challenge has been to maintain a consistent workforce. The goals of a balanced environment have to be accomplished to achieve sustainability in the workforce. These goals take into account three components, including environmental, social, and economic factors. To create a balanced and sustainable work environment; therefore, organizations must take into account all the goals of the fair environment for their employees.

The environmental factors in workplaces describe the conditions through which the employees carry out their daily activities. These conditions may vary due to the rapid change in the world of work, for instance, technological progress, increase in globalization, and fluctuations in economic cycles (Schittich, 2012). Technological advancement, for example, will lead to a reduction in employment opportunities for some employees. Therefore, professionalism is critical in workplace management and has to be adhered to by all employers willing to create a balanced and sustainable work environment.

Social factors, in most cases, encompass the personal life of an individual, how they interact or associate with other people, and their development psychologically. There is, therefore, a need to know about the psychological (cognitive and emotional) development in individuals at work (Peter Docherty, Jan Forslin, and A.B. (Rami) Shani, 2005). Effective and beneficial development among the employees boosts work morale since the staff refrain from the mentality that they are merely a means to meet the end goals of the organization. Consequently, there is a need to hit a balance between the employees’ work and home life.

The economic factor is another crucial component of the goals of a balanced environment. The financial gain of their work motivates employees, and hence an increase will do a lot in their commitment to the workplace. What drives economic growth is the capacity of organizations to provide wages for full-time or temporary employment and hence supporting the expansion of jobs and careers (Simeon, 2013). Therefore, economic consideration should be done by all organizations to enhance a sustainable work environment.

In conclusion, to create a balanced and sustainable work environment, organizations must take into account all the goals of a fair environment for their employees. Environmental, social, and economic factors are the components of a balanced environment and have to be accomplished without compromise if the organizations are to achieve a stable and sustainable work environment.
