Crime scene investigation could result in missing essential evidence that could play a significant role in shaping a case's outcome. When investigating indoor and outdoor crimes, investigators usually overlook common items (Forensics Science, 2020). In the indoor investigation, investigators usually miss room arrangement elements, before and after the crime. By looking at the patterns and how things are arranged in a house, an investigator can establish house changes. In outdoor scenarios, grass patterns, marks on the soil, and other insignificant objects like stones could have a massive impact on an investigation's outcomes. Other essential elements that can be overlooked during an investigation include visual collection like fibers and hairs. During an altercation, suspects could leave traces of their hair or fibers, which investigators can easily overlook for larger evidence. The smell is also an essential factor that investigators should consider when making their crime investigations. In improving crime scene handling, investigators have to show high caution and carefulness (Forensics Science, 2020). First, good evidence management must be upheld whereby video and photographing of scene areas should be done with high care. Evidence must also be kept separate to avoid instances of contamination. Evidence should also be secured by marking any suspicious patterns within the scene. Prescription drugs can be purchased on various websites without adhering to prescription procedures. Prescription drugs are those that should be sold upon doctor's instructions. Therefore, a doctor should write down the prescription drugs for you, after which you present the note to a pharmacist who double-checks, packages, and sells the drugs to you. Pharmacists should also counsel people on how to take prescription drugs while also giving them the drugs' side effects (Osterwell, 2020). Online platforms like Blink Health and Medzino sell prescription drugs without prescriptions. These drugs can be used for the wrong purpose causing detrimental consequences on users. With such websites that buy prescription drugs without prescription, it is easier for users to overdose or under-dose, thus reducing their effectiveness. Drug overdose is a serious crime that has affected the US since the 1980s. The country registered 70237 overdose deaths in 2017 and 67,367 deaths in 2018 (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2020). The CDC reports that more than 140 people die from overdose every day. Studies indicate high rates of overdose among the legal drugs as compared to illegal drugs. Prescription drugs like pain relievers are overdosed commonly, whereby in 2012, more than 33 175 prescription drug deaths were reported in the US. The most commonly overdosed opioid drugs are Vicodin, Demerol, and OxyContin (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2020). The most common drug overdose signs are vomiting, nausea, seizures, drowsiness, difficulties in breathing, and slow breathing. With the increase in prescription drugs, various measures can limit how individuals use prescription drugs. To control this growing problem, the US government must initiate strict measures that limit prescription drugs' sale and use. The first measure that should be taken in ensuring that all the prescription drugs are accessed only from hospitals (Waldrop, & Calsyn, 2020). Chemists and pharmacists should be restricted from selling controlled drugs instead of the drugs used only in hospitals. By having huge supplies in hospitals, there will be minimal need for purchasing the substances from local stores. Manufacturers should also be limited to the number of outlets they can sell the drugs to, whereby only hospitals can apply for purchases. Through this high-level control of the substances, the country will escape the increasing burden of overdoses.
