Many youths around the age of sixteen years are clueless. When in jail, they undergo many issues, including torture due to loneliness. During this time, also, some individuals indulge in drugs to enable them to cope with anger, grief and stress. Additionally, the separation from their families and friends, physical and sexual violence results in trauma.

Most youths feel that the community they grew up in is somehow responsible for their current situation. One of the major challenges faced by the youths who come back into society after serving their terms in prison is barriers in accessing public assistance. In as much as they completed the sentences and rehabilitation processes successfully, they are still ineligible of receiving federal aid. Society responds in a rather harsh way when individuals get back after serving their term. These individuals have no education background or any job experience. Despite the prison sentences, these youth still have a future. Some of these individuals always get in crime due to various circumstances or pressure. But then after some years of rehabilitation, they get to understand the need to become law-abiding citizens.

The rehabilitation process seeks to evaluate both the mental and physical well-being of the individual in prison. The mental aspect is to help the inmate to understand the purpose of imprisonment and why what the person did is wrong. Secondly, to help the individual understand the importance of working once they get back into society.
Finally, is the future for the youth to look forward to once they serve their time?
There is a future for these youths, but they need to aspect the current situation and change. Once they complete their sentence, they can join vocational training or indulge in the art; therefore, doing something meaningful in their lives.
