Gender refers to the state of being a female or a male. In other words, it is a socially created definition of men and women. On the other hand, gender variation is the expression by a person that does not match the gender norms of both masculine and feminine. The paper discusses some of the examples of differences in gender behaviors that we encounter across different cultures. It also illustrates the importance of learning gender across cultures that critically help us to understand the concept of gender. 

Examples of Disparities in Gender Behaviors Found Across Cultures

An example of inequality in gender roles that is seen across the cultures includes leadership in tribal affairs. Here, it is found that women exhibit great leadership in tribal affairs as compared to the men. Men display leadership that is more directive and autocratic. Additionally, some domestic tasks across the cultures show higher levels of variations in gender roles. For instance, women are assigned tasks such as cooking and fetching water while men devote themselves to duties such as hunting, trapping, and construction. More so, in some societies, men primarily perform some activities such as planting crops and milking while women are responsible for carrying the weaving. Men are capable of issuing proper security since the highest percentage of warriors is men.

Importance of Studying Gender across Cultures towards Understanding More About Gender

Learning about the gender across the cultures is quite critical in understanding more about the gender. Firstly, it helps us to understand how the social norms impact the opportunities that are available in the lives of both the men and women. Most importantly, its study enables us to emerge rational especially when it comes to the distribution of resources and their abilities to make decisions without victimizing any of the genders. Furthermore, by learning about the gender, we get much acquainted with the aspect of gender equality which results in several advantages. Some of the benefits of gender equality involve improvement in productivity and a sustainable peace across all the genders. 

In conclusion, gender is an essential aspect of any development across all the cultures. Although disparities in gender responsibilities are dynamic in the course of the lifestyle, they are crucial in improving the productivity and sustaining peace in all cultures. Finally, the study of gender helps individuals to acquire a better scope of understanding much about the gender. For instance, people learn the effects of gender behaviors towards their lives.
