Criminal justice is the system via which various crimes in the society are identified, apprehensions are made, analysed and judgments are made accordingly. The judgments can either lead to exoneration or punishment of the various crimes committed. There are various ways by which the criminal justice system works, all depending on the institutional measures put in place. Te law enforcement officers, attorneys, and detectives all work in the criminal justice department.

There have been several cases of inequality in the criminal justice over the recent past. The American society has been rising from the past challenges of slavery, discrimination and open violation of human rights that had riddled its operations for a long time. Racism has often cropped up in the dissemination of justices over the recent past. In an apparent violation of the principle of equality, there have been cases were the African-American citizens have had a rough day in court compared to the native Americans.

The judicial system which seeks to treat all citizens as equal and to allow for the effective and elaborate means by which there is a similar treatment if all convicts have been muddied by preferential and better treatments of different races against others. The Hispanics and the decent African convicts have had it rough with threats of deportation and excommunication which is a departure from the principle of constitutionalism that calls for equality and fairness.

The social class difference has also played a huge factor in the advancing the wedge in the operation if the criminal justice system. The economic stability in the society has gone in a long way to influence the manner in which the criminal justice is dished out in the society. For instance, the political class already gets the dignitary treatment in the justice system. The prominent business persons in the society do not go through the routine, rigorous investigation into their maters as is the case with the common citizens.
