Both natural or human-made disasters are capable of devastating a state resulting in an expensive recovery process. Adequate standard procedures that show the state's emergency operations can lead to an efficient process during a disaster and minimize frustration among the staff at the emergency operations center. Fire rescue departments in Florida State are developed to provide community education, prevention, and protection from fire, avail emergency medical services, and provide technical rescue. Additionally, these departments are required to avail hazardous materials response and plan for disasters for the individuals operating in the service area.
In the event of a fire crisis in Largo city, Pinellas County in Florida, the fire chief will notify the vice chief, who will then convene the Disaster Management Group (DMG) of the city. The deputy chief will supervise the various division chiefs and coordinate the emergency management activities (Pennino, 2018). The division chiefs will be overseeing their six shift commanders and assistant chiefs who cooperatively will manage the fire prevention activities, manage special operations, and oversee the emergency response.

The Disaster Management Group's (DMG) role is to support all the fire emergency field operations from the incident command center. The DMG will not be directly involved with the process of putting out the fire in the scene, instead, they will support all the emergency field activities from the incident command center (Pennino, 2018). Therefore, emergency responders governed by the six shift commander will be operating in the field isolating, containing, and neutralizing the fire incident (Pennino, 2018). Therefore DMG, which consists of the chief, deputy chief, and division chiefs will be responsible for directing and managing various departments' activities that are involved in the fire incident response and recovery.
DMG will provide the resources for the field activities when requested at the beginning of the fire rescue mission. The assistant chiefs and shift commanders who manage the scene operations will avail status reports to the DMG while informing them of the required resources. DMG will be directing and managing various departments' activities of responding to the fire crisis and recovery. DMG will address the immediate fire crisis and disband after the fire crisis in the city has ended and a normal running of operations has been restored.
