The article titled " Cultural Beliefs and Attitudes toward Health and Health Care among Chinese-Born Immigrant Women: A Focused Ethnographic Approach (Under the direction of Noreen Esposito) " was authored by Meng Zhao. It attempts to study the nature of Chinese medicine and its different features against the way the US conducts its healthcare services. It covers how women born in Chinese who have migrated to the US view the US approach to healthcare services. The journal has adequately addressed the challenges faced by immigrant women concerning healthcare practices since it is different from what they are used to in Chinese (Zhao, 2011). According to Meng Zhao, the differences in health care practices are brought about by the different cultural beliefs that exist between the two countries. However, Zhao stated that not much is known about those women or even how cultural opinions differ from one another.

The study recruited 15 Chinese women who were currently living in one of the states in the US. The participants were used to testing the beliefs of these women regarding Chinese medical approach. The findings indicated that the immigrants' groups had their unique cultural beliefs regarding healthcare practices. Women's socialization was found to be significantly connected with the community. These immigrants mainly depend on the internet or their friends for healthcare information. The study recommended that it is better for the US government to consider improving the Internet-based health education programs which are culturally reliable. This kind of program will play a significant role in ensuring that the healthcare practices for Chinese-born immigrant women are improved regarding US healthcare services.

The information presented in this article plays a significant role in nursing practice as a whole. This information enables nurses to understand that every person has their own beliefs. Therefore, it is better to understand patients’ cultural background to provide services that are satisfactory and equal to everyone (Purnell, 2013). It is also better to understand the background information of a person before drawing a conclusion that generalizes everyone since individuals all have different beliefs. With this valuable information, the healthcare sector is equipped with knowledge on the fact that people have different views regarding healthcare practices and they should be studied and acknowledged.
