Lack of insurance cover in healthcare significantly affects the health outcomes of people globally. Nurses can use their skills and resources to improve the health outcomes of the population without insurance coverage. This paper gives a strategy that professional nurses can use to make policymakers aware of issues in diverse health outcomes and how to improve them.

Professional nurses can do comprehensive research on the benefits of nurse-led activities and present them to the respective policymakers. The report should include reasons for choosing the technique and how effective it can be in giving healthcare to the uninsured population. Nurse-led innovations enhance improved access to healthcare at reduced costs with services such as home visits to low-income mothers (Barbara et al., 2017). Home visits to low income people can play a big role in reducing hospitalization especially among the elderly suffering from chronic conditions. Since the services offered are at reduced costs, more nurses are needed to make the strategy effective.

Moreover, nurse-led innovations include sharing clinical operations and solutions for the care of the uninsured population (Barbara et al., 2017). These operations include data collection tools and plans specifically aimed at proving care for the uninsured population. Additionally, nurse-led activities improves the general quality of healthcare and the hospital’s bottom line performance through increasing nurse experience that is hand-on and educational. This will increase the competence of nurses at the basic level hence improving the health outcomes of the uninsured population who regularly access it (Hanna & Buckner, 2018) The reason for choosing nurse-led activities is because it is the way to go for an effective healthcare system at ground level where most uninsured patients visit.

The number of uninsured population is high globally. This limits their ability to acquire quality healthcare hence affecting their health outcomes. However, nurses can provide healthcare to the uninsured population through nurse-led activities such as home visits to uninsured mothers.
