In recent times numerous organizations are projecting their operations and processes to plan, manage and complete projects more successfully. The main reason for project management is the increased pressure on managers to integrate, design, and control schedule-intensive to improve the overall organizational performance (Kerzner, 2005)
However, many organizations are inexact, puzzled and even misdirected on the status of application of project management in the operations of the institution. Additionally, investment in project management tools, practices and process are seen as quite problematic to rationalize.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
Baylor College of Medicine has a strong project management culture. Over a period, successful projects have been implemented successfully due to the focus of management in the efforts of faculty, staff and trainee's programs on improving health through science, scholarship, and innovation ( Baylor College of Medicine, 2018).
The institution's vision is realized through collaborative initiatives in which primary, translational and clinical researchers work together across disciplines and specialties to learn fundamental insights into human health and ailments and apply the acquired knowledge in developing new diagnostic tools and treatments.
The vision of the institution coupled with support by management in all activities and projects has made Baylor College of Medicine an integral part of the Houston transition into one of the nation's greatest cities. The achievements enjoyed are attributed to the design, implementation, and evaluation of quality outcome as stated in a five-year strategic plan ( Baylor College of Medicine, 2018).
Finally, the institution has successfully implemented numerous projects with has not only benefited students but the community at large. However, there is need to not just concentrate on the internal development and achievement but also focus more on the events taking place in the city or nation at large. Baylor College of Medicine must adopt this approach to enhance its return on investment of its project management training dollars ( Kerzner, 2005). In this line, I would recommend the establishment of an interdisciplinary organization whose function is to research on the market and technology trends to come up with a strategic plan to ensure the institution stays relevant with the current trends globally.
